Thanks Bill, have done, I was told it was sent out yesterday.  I was also told they don't send them out immediately in order to discourage trading on eBay and such like.

Doesn't seem to be 100% fool proof though - I wonder which member of the GRRC is giving up a couple of his free (I understand) paddock passes to make a killing out of someone with more money than sense?

http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3cd5303379

Very generous though offering free post and packing.

Rob

My ticket duly arrived at the weekend.   :)

I note that the eBayers may be attempting to circumvent some rules by advertising the Revival leaflet for sale "including two free tickets".  Also, I'm intrigued by the numbers for sale in Chichester - it looks like a cottage industry has been created giving some already well heeled (possibly) Sussex inhabitants the opportunity for a spot of pocket money.

Must start the annual hunt for my cravat...

.....apart from the various Listers that Brian Lister reckons never saw the inside of his factory; etc., etc.

Peter Connew regularly refers to the fact I told him years ago that of the twelve Lister Jaguars that were originally built only 23 remain.  (Numbers not accurate of course)

He was really tickled by that.

Didn't they make thirty?

Or does that include Chevrolets?

I heard that at an awards ceremony Brian Lister congratulated a well known restorer/driver (who shall remain nameless) on building more Listers than he did!

They were very late this year in putting up the list of drivers attending the FoS too. Whether quite this late, I'm not sure.

They need extra rooms at the Pre War Frazer Nash AGM with all the new car owners.

Surprised they could find enough chain.

Oh!  does the prewar race focus on 'Chain Gang' Frazer Nashes then?  I didn't see anything hinting at that on their website!

No Pre War Sports Car race this year.

It's included every three years.Last years was entertaining.

They try to have two / three of each marque and a couple of superb saloons.

May let an Alta in one of these years!

That link is to a list of celebrities taking part, hardly the same thing as an entry-list

On the subject of tickets - and hoping this is deemed 'legal' here...

One of our little party can no longer get to the Revival (family "issues") - thus we have one spare Woodcote grandstand seat for Sunday. Is anyone who's already going to be there on Sunday interested? Obviously, our friend would like to be able to recoup some of the cost but, just as importantly, is keen that doesn't go to waste if anyone here didn't manage to get one before they sold out.

Could arrange to meet at Goodwood over weekend to hand over. If anyone's interested please get in touch (I'm 'on the road' at the moment, so don't expect an instant response - maybe indicate here if you've PM'd or emailed?).

Did they issued somthing else other like this before the event?

They never issue a full entry list before the event. It would stop the likes of me ( and I am sure many others) buying an over-priced glossy programme just to get my hands on a race-card.

Pre-event news has seemed to me to be very sparse this year. I mentioned this before and it was suggested that with all tickets gone they no longer need to bother with publicity. That would seem somewhat cynical on their part but may well be true.

I have a friend who has a Sunday ticket, which, as things currently stand, can't be used so is for sale.  My friend is not an eBay profiteer, so face value will be fine, or a swap for a Saturday ticket which I can use.   I expect to be around on the Saturday but ticketless.

Hope there's a TNFer (or friend of) who might benefit from this, even at this late stage!

I'm available on 07703 343204 or via pm.

Is it time to say "Meet up at Ted Walker's Ferret Fotographics stand on Friday at 1.00."?

- Assuming he's still going this year and hasn't been priced out.

I cant believe that some have the nerve to sell on for a profit what they were given for free in the first place.

I had some spare tickets this year as I have had 3 cars invited.

I made sure that the surplus went to deserving enthusiasts that had either missed out on buying them early enough or could not quite afford them in the first place.

was actually a huge pleasure to make some of them happy

Just a reminder that there will be a lot of racing history at Goodwood in the form of the drivers we used to watch. To wit, as part of the activities during the Revival weekend , the Grand Prix Drivers Club (Ancien Pilotes) are the guests of Lord March and will be having their Annual General Meeting at Goodwood House.

The members will be at the circuit each day, Friday to Sunday. Some are racing over the weekend, and some are driving in demonstrations. I include a recent photo of some of the members:

Oh dear!  Dare I risk venturing out wearing the flat cap I got for £3 at a boot sale?  Is there anywhere you can get a Pakamac?  Do they let you into the paddock wearing [nearly period] wellies?

There's still time for the forecast to change.  (imagine a smiley of a pig in flight)

Let's try to put names to the faces shall we?

Back row: Ashmore, Brooks, MacDowel, Attwood, Piper, Sauber, Vaccarella, Henton, Stuck, Galli, ?, ?, Sullivan, Beltoise, Larrousse, da Silva Ramos, Schuppan, Ganley, Theo Huschek, Mass

Front row: Herrmann, Henry Taylor (?), MTdF, Vonlanthen, Wisell

Can anyone fill in the rest?

On the back row the two question marks are Mario Theissen former head of BMW motor sport and Claude le Guezec former director of Matra Sport.

As for the lower row it is not Henry Taylor but Teddy Pilette and the other driver is Jos Vonlanthen the Swiss.

I hope the rain won't flood the pedestrian tunnel again like it did a few years ago.

On a positive note I do have a 'period' umbrella that is still leak proof

According to this Goodwood blurb http://www.goodwood....aries-2013.aspx
Jim Clark "achieved success as both driver and team owner".

Having just read all the hype, I'm all for flogging my Sunday ticket. I have to jump through hoops to get down there by plane, train and bus, all for one day cos a load of knobs have bought all the Saturday tickets.

Perhaps we need a Revival Revival to take it back to an event for enthusiasts and not hooray Henrys.

I'll probably feel different after a night's sleep, and might get me wrist slapped by a mod for being offensive.

Oh well.

Clark the team owner? Belated scoop! Can't wait to read the elaboration on this in the pointless part of the programme I leave in the digs after collecting it on Friday.

Three days to go and they finally condescend to tell us what races there are this year - and I thought it was supposed to be a race meeting - admittedly with accoutrements.

Regarding tickets.

I am going Saturday with a free ticket from a friend who works for one of the meeting sponsors, he told me this morning there are lots of tickets at his office for Sunday that won't be used.

I was in my local newsagent this morning and got talking to someone in the queue who I don't know from Adam and he offered me free spare tickets for Friday, he is working at Goodwood over the weekend and has not used much of his allocation of freebies.

It makes you wonder just how many tickets do go unused over the three days.

Slightly puzzled to see that instead of GT40s, Mustangs, 2560GT Ferraris and so on, the Tour de France tribute appears to be full of bicycles.  Shome mishtake, shurely?

For those unable to be there this year (like me) the whole w/e is being streamed live - great to see the Jim Clark tribute, although there seemed to have been a lack of briefing of the commentators of who was in what, as they only mentioned the obvious ones. It looked to me like Clive Chapman in one of the Lotus 25s, for instance. Terrific to see the Lotus 43 BRM for the first time.

The stream comes complete with the 'messages from commercial partners'...........only there aren't very many (Bonhams, RAC, ?), most of the ads are for Goodwood itself,: circuit hire, airfield, golf, etc, etc.

Anyway thanks to Goodwood and http://fortyonesix.com/

For those experiencing choppy video - pause it for a minute or so to allow the stream to buffer and then restart.

After much hand wringing I board a Virgin train shortly for a long trip south and an evening under canvas with Mr and Mrs Giraffe.   It looks like a might still have a Sunday ticket for sale so anybody interested at this late stage call me on 07703 343204.

Look forward to seeing a good few TNFers there!

All three Richard, but I won't say in what proportion...

As I type I am nearing the end of my seven hour journey, on the bus to campsite W, complete with aged sirloin steaks as ordered by Giraffe as he'd left his at home in the fridge!

I hope the tent is storm proof (4 season rating). ;)

A bottle of medicinal whisky may be necessary.

The ex-Nuvolari/Seaman/Reusch/Poore Alfa Tipo C 8C-35 sold for £5.3m (against a low estimate of £5.5m) - £5,937,500 including commission/tax

Bizarrely, a  1960 FMR Tiger four-wheeled Messerschmitt KR200 microcar made £72,000

Just having a break from watching the live coverage from Goodwood, does this mean I won't need to be there in future? Will save myself some money that way. :)

Now for a bit of a rant. Up to 1963 saloon car racing in the UK was dominated by Mk. II Jaguars, so where were they? Anthony Reid had a bit of a go in the first round yesterday but I don't think we were told what happened to him and the car wasn't out today. If these races are to be really representative then the Mk II has got be in with a chance.

Commenting upon the days when GP stars would race in F2 and saloon events on weekends off, Marcus Pye made a comment about next year's F1 calendar increasing to 21 rounds "...to cut costs...", to which DCN made a most apposite response: "Nothing like increasing the number of events in circulation to devalue the currency - he said with feeling"

How true

Just managed to catch up with the live feed at work today (don't tell, will you).   Very good indeed and I especially enjoyed the Jim Clark tribute parade although did not see Dario Franchitti out in the Lotus 38.   Did it run today (Sunday)?    Super to see the Lotus 43 R1 running at long last and huge congratulations to Andy Middlehurst and all the team that have made such a superb job of restoring the 1966 US Grand Prix winner.  It's a car that has always fascinated me. I understand that the engine work has been undetaken by Hall & Hall but I am so disappointed not to have been able to hear its 16 cylinders in action!

Andy truly desrves appropriate recognition for all the dedication he has shown to this project.    Chassis 2 is still with Lotus collector Hugh Edgley I believe but is much more of a basket case than the newly restored R1.

Dear Lord March

Please may we have a similar live feed for the FoS next year rather than the celeb-laden pile of **** which Sky and ITV serve up ...
