Sramoa, you probably know already about Alberto Ascari in 1955 and Paul Hawkins in 1965.

A search for 'Monaco+harbour' turned up this old thread with its not very helpful title which may help. Ascari was # 26, and Hawkins was # 10 so your picture probably shows the car of the fictitious 'Peter Aron' car in the film Grand Prix. A trawl through the massive thread about Grand Prix may answer the question, but I suspect that was not # 11.

Pete Aron is driving a british racing green BRM P261 with number 11.

There was a story some years ago that when the driver of an Alpine Renault just failed to qualify for the F3 Race and in a fit of rage he threw his newly purchased Bell Star helmet into the Harbour. He then remembered the expense of the helmet at the time and promptly stripped off and dived into the Harbour to retrieve the floating Bell Star only to be arrested as it was illegal to swim in the Harbour during Grand Prix week.

True??
