Perez would have been on my list, but I remember Alguersuari .... so Perez fell from the list

also NO I don't think Vettel is attractive because of his sucess.... I think he is just cute....

also no looks don't make me cheer for a driver on track... infact I didn't cheer for alonso cause of the twitter stuff

That's fair enough, he has his moments. But I see his Dad around too much:

Perez looks like a rabbit. A cute rabbit though. Hope he enjoys his new McLaren hutch.

* edited to remove a picture of Norbert jumping into the Red Bull Energy Station pool, that someone took offense to.

oh come on now leave the man alone.... he is just a proud father with no media experience different than most people on the paddock.... so I wouldn't post pictures like this just to make fun of him...

Without his success I suspect few of us ladies would find SV that attractive. He is quite slight in build - he has a body like a chicken - and is balding very young. There were some paparazzi shots of him on the beach with his GF a few years back and they were not flattering! Norbert (his dad) doesn't suggest the trend is likely a good one either.

Vettel is balding? Where? Just curious cuz he looks like a mop head to me... Wondering how people who are more perceptive than are able to identify these things.

Karne, i thought your list would be:

1) Webber
2) The guy in Webbers mirror
3) The bloke on Webbers passport
4) Webber
5) Ann Neal's partner
:)

If i woke up looking like Button I wouldnt be upset.
Nico if you like 'em pretty
Webber if you like the chiseled look
Find another sport if you like the scruffy type

The front, he's not balding but you can see it coming. He will bald at the front on either side of his head, say above his eyes with a stubborn patch int he middle. Think Prince William.

Theres a bloke who went from 'phwoaaaarrrr' to 'holy ****, he looks like his dad' in the space of 3 years

Harry looks like his dad too.

Indeed Harry does ;)

What i've never understood is WHY Prince William's apparently not done anything about it. He must have known when he was 21 or 22 he was likely to end up like his uncle Edward, so why wouldnt he get it fixed? My brother in law was thinning a bit by the time he was 30, he's now 43 and you wouldnt pick that he'd ever had laser treatment in his early 30's.

I'm half thinking about t myself, i'm a tad lucky (i guess) that I am balding from the top so unless I stoop or you're 6ft 2 or taller u cannot see it but yeah it kinda bugs me. TBH I thought i'd lose it all by 20 like my cousins so to get to 36, I suppose I lucked out.

Probably because he doesn't need to. He has a pretty good life by the look of it. You can't let every little imperfection get to you.

you obviously didn't understand what I mean.... I meant she shouldn't post this photos to make fun of his father.... because he got no media experience...

ALSO.... let's stop talking about William and Harry until they start driving F1 cars

Just pointing out Seb's genes, in particular re: the hair (though baldness is carried via the mother's genes I think?). No offense intended towards Mr Vettel, he's just not my cup of tea and neither is Sebastian.

You did start this superficial thread though, I'm afraid people are going to be superficial. :p

there is a difference between appreciating the attractiveness of some drivers to making fun about the appearance of people you do not think are attractive.... same with the Lauda pic on the first page....

you don't think Vettel is attractive I get it... no reason to make fun about his dads looks.... rather write about who you think is attractive

BTW - this thread is full of pics of unattractive older men, see also Nige, Flav and Niki. You are super sensitive about all things SV I fear.

humor at the cost of others is no good humor... and nope I'm not particulary sensitive about things having to do with Vettel... I said I think those other pictures are not great either... the only difference is that the other persons are persons that are used to media.... and Vettels father isn't.... he is a private person only at the races to watch his son race....

I generally have something against people making fun of other people because of their looks...

Like someone said, it is finally a matter of taste.
My top three in no particular order:

Jenson Button

Sebastian Vettel

Bruno Senna

and an honourable mention to Lewis who should lose the chin strap.

That's not to say that the others aren't fine-looking men. They all look pretty good with sunglasses on and their overalls rolled down to their waists

What has the one to do with the other now? And I wasn't fired up btw... I don't care about talking about William and Harry.... just doesn't fit the topic much does it?

the making fun about other peoples looks really bothers me tho...

but I won't argue with you... I'm stating my opinion and yeah.... making fun about other peoples look is unfunny... if that is humor then I don't want to have a sense of it

Vettel will look a lot like his father when he ages, that was my point. And I do not find him attractive.

Honestly, why start such a shallow thread in the first place if you are sensitive about looks? Personally I hate these threads, especially when they are started by women. They play into the old women only watch F1 for the hot guys thing, which is a misconception many of us get tired of battling.

How attractive people are to us is determined by our own biases - your dissing of Mark Webber I would strongly suspect comes from his being a bit of nemesis of Vettel, for example. It's hard then to separate out our physical attraction to others from the effect of their personalities and interaction with others.

These threads only work if you take them all tongue in cheek and keep it light. Rolling out Flav in his thong and Norbert with his pants down is standard procedure. :p

Anyway back on track...

yeaaaah... I don't watch F1 because of that but because of races like Magny Cours 1999.... but I don't care about feminist movement in F1 either.... I mean I know how that is with guys saying girls wouldn't play video games and if they play they just play sims.... but hey best thing to handle that is to ignore it.... after all you know who you are and why you do what you do.... don't care about what others say

... btw... Vettel is not even my favorite driver... my favorite driver is and was Heinz Harald Frentzen.... and nope.... first I didn't diss Mark Webber and I wrote exactly why he isn't my taste... I'm not into too masculine types...

I'm not sensitive about looks either... just about making fun about looks... I thought it was common sense that making fun of other people looks is unacceptable...

whatever... I think if we keep discussing it only leads to drama so I pull out of it

it was nice knowing you, you seemed a decent chap.

Still here
The thing is what are we talkin about here, Whether someone is handsome or has sex appeal? Cause the two don't always go hand in hand. Now I wouldn't know which drivers are sexy, but we've all met attractive people who have the sex appeal of a turnip. And I'm ashamed to say in my youth I've kept secret about girls I've gone out with (so my mates wouldnt take the piss) who had something sexy or just something about them but weren't nessecerily that attractive.

My perspective as a woman:-

1) Bruno Senna
2) Jaime Alguersuari
3) Vitaly Petrov
4) Nico Hulkenberg (when he has the specs on :D )
5) Kimi Raikonnen/Jenson Button/Fernando Alonso

There are a few with potential out there, but they are young to be the polished article yet. ;)

The first 3 would turn my head in the street and think wow he's nice even if he wasn't an F1 driver.

Petrov must be the most un-photogenic person on this planet. When I met him at the Renault factory, I didn't even recognise him he looks that different.

Must mention Cevert though, he was really stunningly good looking.

So being negative about someone's looks is very wrong, but starting a thread to rate and arrange people based on how they look is fine?

I'm sorry but both are shallow approaches. I cringe whenever I see (presumably) male fans posting about female drivers only because of how they look in a bikini, so this thread seems fair play and all in good spirits and all, but its equally tacky/shallow.

And yet I suppose you have no objection whatsoever to threads that objectify the drivers' other halves, or the grid girls, or the female drivers?

And if some girls watch F1 only for the hot guys, so what? I don't see people objecting to men who only watch tennis when certain "hot" girls are playing, or one of my favourite bugbears: guy: "girls only watch figure skating for the hot guys." girl: "so since you started watching only at Nationals, why do you watch?" guy: "cute girls in short skirts, of course!"

Stinking double standard.

Ummm what? Is that a typo??? Seriously?

No way! Petrov is really gorgeous in person. I met him face-to-face at the AGP one year and I was floored at how different he looked from photos. He's really good-looking.

Petrov always seems to me like a guy that should be playing a bumbling henchmen in a low budget Russian crime flick.

Vergne looks like he would be a bit of a lady killer. My wife liked the look of him and I think she choked when she heard his accent.

The Red Bull duo of webber and vettel both look goofy as hell to me.

Well, he's got quite nice, interesting eyes and smile, very expressive -
He can express everything from great joy to total madness - many actors would like to have that skill, i think

And in my F1 Beauty Pageant he wins the honorary mention of

Mr most capricious

Fifi is right Eddie Irvine is a bit of alright!

others that would be on my list are

Jaime Alguersuari
Max Papis
Alessandro Nannini
Andrea de Cesaris

hmmmm seeing a trend here

OK

As I think he will be in F1 in a couple years my vote goes to Daniel Abt!

best of all though is E J Viso!

No, I'm not a massive fan of those threads either to be honest. Would have thought that obvious. I don't tend to want to objectify either sex of athlete, or their spouses. I follow a lot of sports - F1, tennis, rugby league, NFL, cycling - and I like to watch for the sport itself, not "who is cute". :)

But each to their own. People are superficial beasts, these threads will pop up. I tend to think they only work if they are done in fun. I did participate in this one after all! I heart Nico Hulkenberg and all that.

The OP railing against the discussion of drivers' fathers for privacy reasons when there is an entire thread dedicated to their wives was fairly odd.

oh come on don't start again... you can discuss their fathers but the picture you posted was offensive... simple as that... besides I'm neither shallow nor superficial... I would never dislike someone because of their looks and exactly that was my problem...

for you it might be fun to joke about people whos buttcrack is showing.... but to call others superficial then is quite funny

and of course we watch f1 not for the looks... why do we even need to discuss that? You are aware of yourself right? But there is no harm saying who we think are attractive... I mean come on... nobody gets hurt by that.... except for when you make fun about people you think are ugly... and that ALSO was a reason why I disliked that one picture so much...

anyway... thats the last thing I say to that topic...... I know why most of my friends are guys x.x...

to the topic:

On a sidenote.... Vettels trainer is kind of attractive too not a driver tho
