Of course the way to eliminate the side-mirror problem is to do without...
Maybe two lipstick cameras, one on each door, or just ahead on the fender, or even on the roof.
Which will be fine until the computer hiccups.
Then, with any luck, we get the 21st century full house: uncommanded accelleration, inability to get out of gear, central locking activitated, electronic power steering fails, and no rear view. Makes me think of Christine.
