Nice work Steve, I think you might find that Jaegermeister is better known as a 'herbal liqueur' than a 'digestif formulator' but lets not quibble about it, Jaegermeister has many other names in Germany including Gorings Schnapps and Liver Glue :drunk:

And it's in the US also known as hotelroom destruction starter since Metallica discovered it. :rotfl:

Maybe 'Hotel Room Reformulator' might be a better description

Don't forget "Hörnerwhiskey"!

As an aside, I can relate to that Metallica story. The only time ever I imbibed more than a moderate quantity of that... er, stuff, I had a complete blackout (and I mean COMPLETE) until awakening the next morning (midday? evening?? week???), still wearing my shoes whilst lying in bed!  Never happened to me before or since...

Interesting avatar, David.

Getting back on topic

The March 741 in David's avatar looks like Hans Stuck before he crashed on Lap 3 of the Monaco Grand Prix ?

Per the avatar, is it Hans, or a Masked Man in the same car and helmet decades later? :)

I think you're right, E1. Here's David's 741 when he owned it:

Here is Dave Kane's 741 March, this is just to show the differences.
photo lent site Dave Kane collection.

and David told us that he used a helmet in Stuck's colours when he raced it. The colour scheme changed after he sold it:

Except March 741s didn't have that shape sidepod, they had the normal March parrallel sides with an S shape at the front.
The wedge shaped tub was made by Roy Lane for hillclimbing.

741 colour schemes are amusing - one car started green and the other was orange, as they were crashed (one had 4 tubs the other 3 tubs in the season!) various different colour panels/tubs were fitted presumably depending on what was to hand.

I see what you mean I presume Roy was not anticipating taking part in any 200 mile hillclimbs :smoking:

The article above tells the story, and includes this remarkable bit: "this third tub for 741-1 was 741-2's second tub, straightened after being damaged in Brambilla's most recent accident!" (Four plus three equals six.)

He could certainly have done several seasons of British hillclimbs on one fill up of the F1 tanks.
