The "Pageant Princess" banner ad (probably its animation) creates very irritating "stick" and "semi-hang" in Firefox.

Encourage the admins to ask the advertiser to provide a non-animated version in which the princess doesn't blink and the blue rays behind her don't move.

 doesn't your security system have an anti-banner function?

It does, but Autosport has had a "don't block banner ads" cookie for non-subscribers. Not sure if it still does, but...

In any case, have no problem with banner ads per se. In fact, fully recognize that they're one of the features which allow the "non-subscription zone" to continue to exist and flourish.

I'm not entirely sure what the Pageant Princess is, but it doesn't sound like a campaign ideally suited to AUTOSPORT's readership...

We can block any ads which are part of our ad network (ie. the ads which run when there isn't an ad specifically sold by the AUTOSPORT ad sales team running) if their content is unsuitable or if there's an issue like this where the ads is causing performance issues. As I'm not familiar with this advert, could you send me (at Simon.Grayson@Haymarket.com) a screengrab of the ad the next time you see it, and also let me know the country you're viewing the site from so that I can let our ad network know that there's a problem?

I think you may be seriously overestimating Zmeej's technical expertise there by asking for a screengrab

But to save you waiting, he's in Canada.

Grayson

Thank you very much for your reply, and please accept my apology for not getting back to you.

In any case, the "Pageant Princess" ad hasn't appeared for about a week now, which has made me very happy. :)
