Ugh, I hate twitter. It's like they encourage squeezing words into 3 letters and making sentences into incoherent messes. But I digress. Doubt I'll get a response

So I guess this is an indicator of how NBC is going to be this year... First F1 broadcast and there's a basketball game instead of it airing. GG?

I think you will be able to watch the missing qually and practices live online through NBC Sports Network's online offering (which is supposed to show all sessions live). If you get the channel on cable, then just get the password and user name or email or whatever you use from your cable company and you will be able to plug it in and watch online - or so they say. :D

We'll see. But if I'm streaming it I might as well just "buy" a stream from Sky or BBC with commentary

edit: However, lack of commentary might be cool if the quality is nice and HD like last years ^_^

I reckon it's UT football.

Judging from the 2012 season, there's likely to be Ivy League and/or Mountain West Conference games airing on NBCSN that afternoon.

edit: originally mentioned Harvard-Yale, but that's on the following weekend.

@jonpollak:

Thanks for the complete schedule. I am going to print that.

One improvement over last year. Fox put four races on the main network, but time shifted them to Noon in the Central Time Zone, I don't know when they ran elsewhere. This created a problem for me if there was an early afternoon IndyCar race. At least they are putting the first broadcast on live.

If you have NBCSN on your cable/satellite package you can watch P1 & P3 on-line.
See my first post in this thread.

In other news..Some tweeks in the broadcast schedule which includes NBCSN IndyCar airings.

It looks good.... better than Speed, but that wasn't difficult.

Glad to see you here, Conosur - it looks like keeping up with the puzzle of scheduling is going to be mess. Thanks to JP for the whole thing.

Having said all of that - I just checked to see if I even have "NBC Sports Network", which I do (never paid any attention to it), but...

.. my tv guide says "F1 Countdown" is coming on at 3:00 a.m. (2 hours from now)......?

Thanks, man... It looks as though even NBC programmers can't figure out how to compensate for DST, as has been pointed out in an earlier post. :well: Çést la vie.

This schedule should be the last one with any sort of time discrepancies. I suppose I could go back and edit it, but...

Amen to Jp.

Indeed, I set my DVR to record the countdown programme and got some car-hunters thing that was supposed to have just finished.
Hopefully the silly beggars have put their clocks forward now.

Well I set mine by title, and the programme description was F1 countdown - but the description didn't match the content.
Either NBC or my comcast box hadn't set their alarm and put the clock forward, will check if it's back in line tonight.

Reprogram for anything F1-related, or program each listing individually, but don't go by the original schedule I posted.

One may have to actually check the local listings to be sure. DVRs aren't exactly the be-all/end-all of recording devices. Never trust a machine with semi-brains.

Just curious ISOT...
What's your TV set up?
IE: cable/sat and who is your provider?
$10 per month ain't bad for both F1& IndyCar.

I wish I had seen this topic before upgrading my Comcast subscription to get SpeedTV (specifically for F1) NBCSN was in my basic package (I think)... Anyway at least now I get to watch the EPL.

Same boat here, but only one phone call complaining about the rates got me another $15 off a month (my contract is up) with no new contract.... so Im saving $5 more and have the higher tier package (Americas Top 250). :p

My DVR apparently is non-functional. Set it to record - nothing. It's only half-full.

It would seem I'm doomed to spend an hour in line at Comcast to debate the issue with a "technician". Ahrghhh..

Time is back in synch now and it recorded properly on the second attempt. Looks a bit better than Speed, though I still think 'Obbs sounds like Mr Punch having a bad trip. He's also challenging Brundle on the no-doubt-about-it-ometer.

I don't think they have started it yet. I also think they are just replicating their TV channel so it wouldn't be on now anyway.

SpeedTV never showed FP1 live on television, and I recall somewhere saying that NBCSN was doing the same. But looking at my Comcast menu, I see that before the live FP2, there is a showing of F1 practice, which I assume is FP1.

You're right, SPEED streamed 1 and 3. Tonight FP1 is taped delayed and FP1 and FP2 are back to back.

Early thoughts?

For a first broadcast it could be a lot worse. It doesn't bother me that much that it isnt live all of the time... and that there are no streams or anything... i just wish they had an nbc timing app or something on their site... at least for their tape delays... because their broadcast doesnt run in realtime, screwing up other timings and laps; but i digress......

Apart from random FOM pre season glitches...and not having it in HD, im quite impressed... looking forward to see how much they can run with the resources they have.

Anyone know who is commentating on TSN during FP right now (in Canada). I don't recognize them. It's not DC/Ben Edwards or Brundle or the speed tv crew :S.

It is BBC I think because Gary Anderson is one of the pit reporters.

FOM provide two feeds: one with graphics for 16:9; and one with inset graphics for 4:3. NBC is broadcasting both their SD and HD signals in 16:9, yet they've chosen to use the 4:3 package from FOM leaving the graphics in the middle of the screen on both my HD and SD televisions. Very ameteurish from a broadcaster who knows how to provide great veiwing.

Hopefully, they'll fix this by switching to the 16:9 graphics feed before qualifying.

It seems NBC Sports Network has renegged on their intent to air all sessions and will only air the same programming as Speed had done: P2, Qualifying and the Race.

Next up is Malaysia, and Bernie has made sure no one east of the Rockies will be watching it live, as it's on in the middle of the night.

MALAYSIA TV Schedules

8:00 pm - 9:30 pm M
7:00 pm - 8:30 pm P

FRI NIGHT - MAR 22:
