It's a bit cliche topic - but what would be your dream motorsport TV broadcasting team? Note: this thread is not restricted to certain series (F1), but all areas of racing. Your dream team could be commentating on BTCC, Super GT, WSBR, NASCAR, F1, Australian Porsche Carrera Cup or anything you wish - and there is no need to mention that series here. Instead, what I wish you to tell me is

Channel - the preferred channel of yours, ie the TV broadcaster of the series (whatever it may be). Pick 1 only
Commentators - the main commentators / colour commentators. Pick 1-3 persons
Presenters - presenters of the show providing some pre-race chat or whatever. Pick 0-3 persons (you don't necessarily have to pick any for this if you so wish)
Pit lane reporters - personell working at pits and interviewing drivers and teams. Pick 0-2 persons (you don't necessarily have to pick any for this if you so wish)

Doesn't have to be realistic, except:
A) Channel must (still) exist
B) Persons you picked must be alive
C) Persons you picked must have some connection to motor racing / cars / TV broadcasting, ie not Bruce Dickinson ;)

Not restricted to english speaking TV of course.

2011 BBC was perfect for me.

I could just add up Ant Davidson for post-race analysis. Really enjoy listening to him talking about driving styles or racecraft.

Interesting pick. I've always really liked Alain's presence too, though I wasn't really the biggest fan of those Le Mans Classic "talk show" gigs he did for Motors TV last year - did you catch those broadcasts Victor?

No I didn't, but if as a presenter he were as on-form and as informed as when he did the Victory by Design videos (and the Le Mans broadcasts for Speedvision back in the day), he'd be fantastic. Plus a calm and relatively posh voice.

Pitlane reporters: Ted, Mark Larkham

I can't understand John Watson. Murray may be as excitable as a teenage girl but at least he doesn't sound like he's eating all the time.

Channel: Something in HD, without commercials (I don't mind paying at all) and available in USA.
Commentators: Brundle, Edwards, Hindy (hypothetically assuming that he can cover F1 as good as Le Mans stuff)
Presenters: Walker (Yes, I want him to live forever and present F1), Humphrey, Buxton
Pit lane: Kravitz, Allen

P.S. If I get bored I would''t mind having that guy in a second track . He is so amazing

David Hobbs, Steve Matchett, Sam Posey, and Bob Varsha were all great together, I thought, although it would be some good fun to see if we could get John Hindhaugh in there somewhere. Any commercial-free network works for me, as well.

EDIT: Can't forget Will Buxton, too. Didn't like him at first, but his enthusiasm is infectious and I think he makes a great addition to any team.

Not bothered about the presenters or pitlane reporters, but a bit like Murray Walker commentating on snooker I'd love to see Jim Ross of WWE fame give F1 a go.

"LOOK OUT!!! OH MY GAWWWD! HOW DO YOU LEARN TO FLY A RACING CAR?!? . . . You don't."
Posted Image

"Grosjean? What's he . . .? DON'T DO IT GROSJEAN! GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY! GOOD GOD ALMIGHTY! HE'S BROKEN IN HALF!!!"

Channel: BBC
Commentators: Murray Walker, Martin Brundle (I would say Toshihiro Suzuki, but I don't think I'd be able to concentrate on the race!)

Pit lane reporters: Ted Kravitz
