Probably way too early for this and there's a lot of guess work involved since we have so little information about everyone's performance but since a) i am a little bored on a Sunday morning and b) i can't wait for the start for the start of the season i wondered how the grid would stack up and what the general consensus from everyone else is.

Here's my prediction -

1 - Vettel
2 - Grosjean
3 - Raikkonen
4 - Webber
5 - Button
6 - Alonso
7 - Rosberg
8 - Hamilton
9 - Maldonado
10 - Hulkenberg
11 - Perez
12 - Bottas
13 - Massa
14 - Di Resta
15 - Sutil (presuming he gets the drive)
16 - Ricciardo
17 - Gutierrez
18 - Verge
19 - Pic
20 - Van Der Garde
21 - Chilton
22 - Razia

Right, i wonder just how wrong i'll be...

This is definitely a bets & games kind of thing. Making predictions is more fun when there's a competition based around it!

Maybe Autosports should set a fantasy league up.

You select each race Q3 top ten and the race top ten, after the race you get given points, top of the chart each month wins a prize and top ten year end gets a bigger prize, tickets to one of the races would be nice  . copyright 2013 by me :)

Oh its already has been done :( anyway Autosports has many followers, they would be mad not to have one themselves.

Not sure why people are predicting Button to do so well, don't you remember how awful he was at times last year? Anyway, here's my top 10:

Alonso
Grosjean
Massa
Vettel
Maldonado
Raikkonen
Perez
Hulkenberg
Bottas
Gutierrez

Why does nearly everyone put the Caterham boys above the Marussia's? If we look at testing so far, Marussia looks to be the better of the two.

It's very circumstantially influenced and there's a lot of educated guesswork but then again I did win guess the grid in 2008 how about yourself? Obviously you weren't watching the beginning of last season either??

When trying to arrange the grid it actually dawned on me how close the grid could possibly be. The top ten is extremely difficult to pick with so many top drivers split into different cars!!!

Here is mine:

1 - Vettel
2 - Grosjean
3 - Webber
4 - Alonso
5 - Button
6 - Raikkonen
7 - Perez
8 - Massa
9 - Maldonado
10 - Hamilton
11 - Hulkenberg
12 - Rosberg
13 - Bottas
14 - Di Resta
15 - Gutierrez
16 - Ricciardo
17 - Vergne
18 - Sutil

20 - Pic
21 - Chilton
22 - Razia

I know its a little off topic, but not sure where exactly to post this.

Since HRT are gone and no longer part of Formula 1, is qualifying going to change or basically stay the same?

Will we have 7 drivers getting knocked out in the Q1 or will it be only 5. Will the FIA be keeping the top 17 drivers from Q1 to go on to Q2.

So now you're going to have a much higher chance of one of the older teams also getting knocked out in Q1

Certainly does. Especially tyre choices. have that luxury of using the harder compound knowing the back benchers can't threaten their laptimes. we might see quite a few top teams strapping on the softer compound in Q1. this will no doubt have a cascading effect on race weekends

I think McLaren and Red Bull have the fastest cars, but it shouldn't be a big gap to the next team up, and it's probably going to be close between Lotus, Ferrari and Mercedes.

Judgement is judgement, you sound like you assume I've bothered since. The point is if you know anything about guessing grids, it's never what you think it's gonna be. The Australian track is very very different to Barcelona and Jerez.

To be honest though, when was the last time Merc had a 1-2 in qualy and when was the last time both qualified outside the top 10, or came very close to at least?

I'm sorry but LMAO at all the people thinking Perez is going to be nowhere in qualifying. If McLaren has a a top car he'll be top two rows.

Or well, not thinking he'll be nowhere, that's what the agenda says.
