'Motor Sport' magazine podcast

This belongs on a long running thread of almost the same name but it's been temporarily closed for six weeks.

I've just finished listening to the latest Motor Sport podcast, featuring the always excellent Pat Symonds and, for the first time, Simon Arron. Mainly about current and future Formula 1, but with a few historical points and even a passing reference to Royale cars from Mr Arron, it is very highly recommended to those with any interest in the serious side of these subjects. It's available on iTunes and, I think, the magazine website.

First time I encountered Pat Symonds was at Royale when a certain Mr Cornock introduced him as "Patrick, here,...etc." Simon will understand!

Edit/Update - Very enjoyable and some excellent questions (and answers) with references to Royale RP24s and RP26s and Brentford football club! As a former season ticktet holder, when I lived in West London...

I haven't got to grips with these "podcasts" but this was better than anything I had heard before. Not sure why they need so many MS people, but interesting perspective on Senna/Toleman/'84 Monaco GP.

The comment from Pat Symonds regarding Terry Gray "going all the way" - totally unprompted - was almost surreal. Some people may not even know who Terry Gray is. Ten out of ten, Pat.

Excellent as ever; and I actually like the MS staff role. Like the very personable Damien Smith I can struggle with stuff such as the Coanda effect and I find his rather Wooster- esque persona rather endearing . But I do know who Terry Gray is- and I bet 90% on people here do too...

Slightly OT but, as Roger says at the beginning of this thread, the main MS thread is closed at present. Quite a few pages from the said Mr Arron in this month's copy including a retro feature on the 1993 European GP, plus "Lunch with...Tony Brooks (hurrah!), a nice piece on his first visit to the Targa Florio from Richard Williams and some redesign of layout.

The latest podcast feature Gordon Murray.  Over an hour of his thoughts on current Formula 1 (he doesn't like it), the racing cars he designed and his current work on lightweight road car design.  Very highly recommended and excellent value for free.

Different Terry Gray, Michael. This one won one of the FF1600 championships in the UK; I'd take a guess on 1979 but I don't remember which series - we had several running concurrently for quite a while

1979 Townsend Thoresen (MCD) in a "works" Van Diemen, I know ;) I was just having a little fun for myself Thanks, anyway!

I wonder whether there was anything else to the Terry Gray thing. He certainly looked v good in 1600 (I fully acknowledge many others did too) then after 1 year in an old RT1 in F3, he completely disappeared. Anyone else know what happened, other than the usual 'lack of money/backing'?

yes ,one of the best MS pods so far. GM makes refs to a magzine article he wrote abt his ideas for f1. Have scanned the ms site but can,t locate it. Was it another mag? Anyone know?

Very good podcast. Didn't know he had such an appreciation of the 30's.  Top bloke

Mark Blundell podcast online now - on Youtube too.  Wasn't sure about how good this would be but was very very pleasantly surprised.  Longest podcast for MS yet I believe with the possibility of a part 2 and I'd definitely think it worth it.  Some fascinating stuff in there. Highly recommended.
