Is that last one an old clubmans Gryphon? For some reason it reminds me of Noel Stanbury.

Wouldn't want to comment on the size of the wheels or the correctness of the tyres but it isn't a genuine Audi Quattro Sport. It is one of the cut & shut Dialynx Quattros.

I seem to be on the Côte d'Azur as I type, but I'm using borrowed computer equipment - after spilling wine on mine - and so far have been unable to get unfamiliar photo software to collaborate with a Pentax K-5. There will be some Monaco pix on here, but upload speed might have more in common with a Life W12 than a Renault V8. I'll keep trying...

I wouldn't do it deliberately, but these guys did!I too have a Lenovo, but I have no intention of testing the veracity of your assertion!

"In the summer time, when the weather is high, you can stretch right up and touch the sky. When the weather's right, you got women, you got women on your mind..." Mungo Jerry not pictured at Silverstone on Friday, sadly.
BRDC flies the flag for Hamilton (about as scenic a backdrop as you'll find at Silverstone).

Don't you miss the variety of trackside hoardings that used to form race track backdrops way back them, David? Nowadays we only get blanket coverage by a few selected (i.e. ones with ginormous budgets) names....... it hasn't changed too much since I took this snap in 1973 although the trees have grown quite a bit.

According to Autosport this was down to Reutemann who, having made his demon start, then chopped across in front of Emmo causing him to lift and lose several places.Looking at your photo, I had forgotten what a poor start Emerson made ...

Yes indeed. The stationary car was then clobbered by Oliver's Shadow which knocked off one of the BRM's wheels, but BRM repaired it in time for the restart. Two more things that I'd forgotten: Lauda's BRM never left the grid at the first start (broken driveshaft?)
