He also had a gallop and displayed good pace at that 1998 Assen TT Revival that Ferri ran and crowds stayed away from.
I went to the 1998 event and sat at the chicane just before the start line. I went the Saturday and the weather was really good so I was able to take quite a bit of video. I will try get it sorted onto Youtube if anyone would like to see it.

Yes please mate. A buddy of mine made a pilgrimage there and made some audio tapes just sitting on the bank, marvelling at the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see seven MVs out at once being caned mercilessly in the parades. To this day it eludes me just why that meeting was a massive flop : possibly the best lineup of riders ever assembled, with a stack of works machinery on hand !
Not to derail...
Well , I was there Glenn , on a trip for the whole weekend , organized in the UK , the weather was spot on , and as you say the riders and bikes were there , and the crowd , although not massive was considerable , I think this was the meeting which really started the revival series which continue to this day , Imola , Spa , Dijon etc in Europe and more world wide

The story of Caldarella and Gilera in 1964 and 1966 can be found in detail in
"Gilera Road Racers" by Raymond Ainscoe and
"Gilera Quattro" by Sandro Colombo.
Please also see Chi Che Caldarella's website.
Caldarella travels to events in Italy about once every two years.
