Any imbalance condition can negatively affect smoothness. Apparently....

Fan-bloody-tastic! My wife is going out in about an hour...

There is a brief snippit of something similar (but not as good) in a compilation of engineering blunders, experiments and failures on Facebook, but I can't find a way of linking it.

We just need a giant Keith Moon to operate it correctly.

I have a GE top-loader washing machine, that cost about $400(US) new. Looking at the drum's suspension system and counterweight design I was very impressed. The drum suspension is composed of a system of stamped sheet metal links. And the counterweight is made of cast concrete.

Of all appliances that I get asked to move, washing machines are the worst. Fridges, relatvely light but meant to be kept upright, tumble dryers and dishwashers, light and no concerns about orientation, but washing machines - all that concrete.

That sounds like my washing machine spin drying two pairs of jocks! Bloody thing walks around the laundry.

I assume you've taken out the transit bolts that lock the concrete block in position...
