You have SUNBAC running split meetings in the late 60s, together with BMCRC running pure bike meetings twice a year. I have the programmes if you need more info.

I also have a programme from June 26th 1971. The meeting was organised by the MCC.

Ten events in all, four half-hour time trials followed by six 10 lap scratch races, including one time trial and two races for four wheelers.

I recall that '71 meeting fairly well. I think we watched from Club corner. I can particularly recall a race long dice between Croxford on Seeley's G50 and Marsovsky on, I think, the Linto (got the programme somewhere) but can't for the life of me recall the result. Hailwood was there too on, I think, a Yamsel - not sure that he did too well though. I can remember the great man being parked alongside us in the traffic jam trying to get into the place and my Aussie mates not recognising him at all.

The event finally became the British GP in 1977. and I was lucky enough to be there.

It was certainly 1971. Kid brother and I were perched in the Woodcote grandstand. I seem to recall the F750 boys left the lap record at 104.95mph, compared with which the bicycle crew performed creditably to chalk up - what? 27mph? And was it 1971 when Ducati's glass-sided transporter graced us with its presence? I remember 1972 better, though, thanks to Jarno Saarinen.
