Wondering if any of you have ever made or lost some money on any racing-related investments? I'm sure a few of you have. If you have any stories I'd like to hear them.

Made an investment at the bookies on the Canadian gp 2011 on jenson button after he said he had his car set up for the wet weather for the race and made £32 on a £1 bet :lol:

Put £40 on JB to win the 09 WDC after the first morning of the last barcelona test. 80:1 odds.

Made ~£3200. Was devastated that the odds had plummeted over the morning. Still, it got me a nice things. Thanks Double Diffuser!

I've got 25 years of Autocourse annuals and a bunch of other nice racing books. I bought them mostly for the sheer enjoyment, but I've always wondered whether I'll make any money on them when I decide to sell them.

Most likely not. AFAIK there has been others trying to sell a collection, but they would be lucky to "give" it away.
