the closest real track is Sachsenring 64km from me

Same here but only 34km for me. Been to a couple MotoGP races. DTM i still miss dearly. Can't believe it's already over ten years since last race there

Dubai Autodrome is about 15 miles away, and Yas Marina F1 track is about 80 miles.

Same here but only 34km for me. Been to a couple MotoGP races. DTM i still miss dearly. Can't believe it's already over ten years since last race there

and i'm the third one near the Sachsenring...about 50 kilometer

but I think the Schleizer Dreieck should be nearer...approx 45 km

Kemora circuit about 220km away.

I always get a kick out of it that the Scandinavian drivers have no major racing circuits in their home countries, yet seem to always produce quality racers.

A 60 mile ferry ride across Lake Michigan and a few miles off shore, so compared to some people I guess Road America is at my doorstep.

I live in Poland yet the closest to me is the Brno Circuit (Czech Republic), at least that I know of. Still about 200 km from me though.

Closest to me is Three sisters (Go karting track though.) 2 Miles away.

Second is the old Aintree race circuit. 15 Miles away.

Current is the Oulton Park circuit. 30 miles away.

Nice idea for a thread Sin, don't know where you got that from though ;)

Closest: 873 km away (straight line distance, only access by boat or plane) - Marrakesh Street Circuit

Closest permanent circuit: 927 km away (straight line distance, again only access by boat or plane) - Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, Portimão

So I'm still winning and by a very large margin the "furthest distance" charts. Think it'll take someone from Antarctica to beat this. :lol:

I'm right between Sears Point (70 miles) and Laguna Seca (85 miles).

My closest circuit these days is Thruxton, yet it's one I've not been to. British GT stopped visiting the circuit the same year I moved from Silverstone being my local, which only leaves the BTCC as a notable weekend to attract me, a series that is only now coming out of an weak, uninteresting period.

Yeah, It would be nice with something a little closer. There's the Viking Motor Park project though, but who knows when or if construction will ever start.

Silverstone, about 30 miles up the road from me which is nice, although due to the £££'s a ticket currently costs a decent grandstand ticket there is about the same as a basic grandstand ticket and the flights to Monza! :drunk:

Go figure.

Non-active/historic: Street Circuit in Erlen (just a triangle of public roads) used to have several races, mainly from 1948 - 1951 (highest class was Formula 2 where also some F1 pilots were participating). I grew up in a tiny village nearby, and I still remember they did a revival (on a different triangle course

) with many historic cars and motorcycles that passed just in front of our house when I was 3. Still got a few pics from there.

Some old footage

Incidentially, Erlen is the home of a big office furniture manufacturer nowadays, whose owner is also a motorsport enthusiast and won the Daytona 24 hours in 2002.

Closest bigger circuit would be Monza.

I have my tickets for the Sunday. First BTCC race I'll have been for a while.

I found out today that there's some really good comedians doing their thing at the Edinburgh Fringe the same weekend. It's always the way eh.

And 39 Miles from the Ingliston Circuit

So like the guys above the nearest active/proper circuit to me is Knockhill 42 Miles away.

Nope.

Closest circuit: Moscow Raceway. Straight-line distance from where I currently work(and live) is over 1100 km.
