Road Atlanta.
... but the thing to consider is that, logistically, Montreal is just as "close" to me as Austin.
FOM needs to figure out how to drop ticket prices by at least half. Or bring back Indy.

One that I'm aware of is a circuit in Poznań, Poland. I have great memories from there since I first saw a F1 car live there in 2010.
Great to drive in a sim IMHO.

Croft is 30 miles away from me.
Since I posted this, I've moved to the other end of the country, so my answer is now Thruxton (although I have yet to visit)!

Great thread - I have had fun reading through all the posts about tracks I have never heard of.
I have also learnt something about my local track - after assuming (incorrectly) that it would be Croft at 40 miles.
Turns out Elvington is only 30 miles away: http://www.motorspor...rack-guide.html
And even closer is the Harewood Hill climb course which is just 10 miles away. http://www.motorspor...limb_guide.html

Longcross Proving Grounds (a 2 mile test track). Or Brands Hatch if we're sticking to race-ready circuits.

Texas Motor Speedway: 25km
The thing is that I already have been on Circuit Of The Americas (355km) but I have never been on Texas Motor Speedway

Used to live 5 minutes from Oran Park which was a pretty cool track, but was bulldozed to make way for housing

Currently in Farringdon, London, UK, so a toss up between Rye House Speedway (proper karting) and Brands hatch both about 30 miles away.
Not sure where the Formula E race will be, but if its Battersea Park, thats 5 miles away.

Used to be close to Mosport (about 3-4 hours) and the proposed Wasaga Beach Circuit. Just moved to the Mid-West of the USA and the Newton (Iowa) oval appears to be closest, but it might take my a while to determine what other facilities are in the area. Looking forward to next year's IndyCar race at Iowa Speedway, and maybe a return to Montreal for F1.

East London Grand Prix Circuit - about 12km's
Jody Scheckters playground before moving to Europe and host of a couple F1 races in the 1960's.
First "corner" at the end of the straight is a flat out right hander often taken at over 300km/h on superbikes. There is no run off, it's just bumpy grass till a tire barrier about 30m away and the track is only about as wide as 3 normal road lanes. Definitely not your average Tilke Drome
After that, it's Phakisa (ex MotoGP) about 400km
