Does anyone have any suggestions about getting to and from the Circuit of the Americas by public transport on the US Grand Prix weekend ?
Thanks

Hello Phil,

I do think public transportation is an option for getting to the venue. However, last year the organizers setup a system of free shuttle buses to move folks from two different parking locations in Austin to the circuit. If you purchased tickets directly from the circuit via Ticketmaster you should receive detailed information when you get your tickets in the mail.

Hope that helps.

Went last year and had a great time. It is a very nice facility and for a first time event it was very well organized.

NOT related to 'Public Transport' directly but a valuable piece of info for those traveling nonetheless.
As some of you may know I attempted to bring our kick ass tour bus to the race last year and was told..."Sure, it's $15,000"

Well, looks like the powers that be have relented their 'stupid fee' and opened up other areas for the less well endowed.
Now it's only $1000.00

Get 10 friends, hire a custom coach and bingo..

I'll be in Japan so I ain't coming.

Have fun
Jp

Hey Guys,

I live in Texas and plan on going to my first USGP this year. LivingSocial is running a deal with $50 off T4 and T9 tickets...free parking if you buy four packs as well...check it out

I used the buses last year. It was OK, the only issue was after the race it was too crowded with everybody leaving at the same time. It took at least one hour to get to the bus. Taxis were also available. I would expect for more parking and lower prices this year. Look for a Hotel outside Austin close to the Outlet which is a good option for shopping for wife in case she is not interested in the race. The hotels in Austin in the race weekend can be really expensive.

Shuttle bus information from downtown Austin at $5 per day has only recently been posted on COTA website.

I read today that many people have yet to received their tickets which apparently are very lame in design. There are a lot of people on social media not happy with COTA. I think COTA needs to refocus on racing rather than just  tickets sales, merchandise and music.

You should check out COTA's Facebook page. It is a shitstorm. Tons folks still waiting on tickets ordered in March and I have seen better looking bus tickets than what was sent out.
