Personally, mp4-23 (brawn gp 001 a very close second) around the previous Silverstone configuration.
What would you do?

Had exactly the same thought about Monaco.Would have to be the Mclaren MP4/4, would love to say at Monaco but would be too worried about crashing the car so might opt for Spa instead. In second place was a lotus 49!!
Great thread idea by the way

Car: Williams FW34. Certainly not anything old because I would fear of possible crash consequences in older, more dangerous cars.

It'd defo be a toss-up between the Williams FW14B around Silverstone - and a fully boosted Ferrari 126C2 around Monza.
Many spare pants and brave pills needed in both cases

Track is the 'Suzuka' circuit, trust me, over the years of sims racing, nothing gives more joy than to nail those 'S's (from T1-T7) in a grippier and powerfull F1 car.
P.S kimi holds the fastest lap with that car on that track ... 1:31.540

I'd jump in a Lotus 98T and take it around Brands Hatch, but only because 1985 Silverstone is no more.

One lap isn't enough anywhere.
I'd jump in a Lotus 98T and take it around Brands Hatch, but only because 1985 Silverstone is no more.
obviously the OP meant the ultimate 'one lap' (me thinks) like qualy lap, with in and out laps.
in any case, for pounding round a track, suzuka is the best, then interlagos.

I just wanted to know you're dream lap, obviously the more the merrier in the cars we have chosen as they are all incredible machines, but one lap makes it more special than unlimited laps.
Silverstone 1985 then.

But if we're going on "**** it" mode, how about the Brabham-BMW BT52 (1983 F1 season) at Macau.

I don't wanna die and I'm veeeery suspicious of my "abilities", so I'd probably take something stupid like a touring car in a relatively simple track. Could be the WTCC BMW car at Estoril, for example.
in that sense, my dream is to drive the Nordschleife in a Nissan R34 GTR 'nur' edition someday

I still find the fact that FIA banned 6-wheelers before it could race very disappointing. They should've given it at least a shot before banning it!

If I get diagnosed with a terminal disease then the Lancia Delta S4 around the Nordschleife.
Audi Quattro, but yeah, going to have to agree. Going to have to stick with a long circuit to have time to notice what is going on.

No point picking cars that someone else did something special in (e.g. 'Ooooh, I wanna drive Senna's McLaren from his Brasil win.'), because then the opportunity loses its meaning, I think. I can't narrow it down to just one car on one track, but I can get it down to three of each. I'd be satisfied with any combination of these.
Cars
Acura (Honda) ARX-02a: My favourite prototype sportscar, and it has what is probably my favourite engine note.
McLaren MP4-20: Possibly the fastest and (my opinion) most beautiful F1 car ever. Oh, and it has a V10.
McLaren MP4-12C Spider: My favourite production car--and the only one in which you'd get to share the experience with someone else.
Tracks
Road Atlanta: Always had a soft spot for this track. Love the layout and the setting.
Spa Francorchamps: This one is pretty self explanatory; basically a longer version of Road Atlanta with even better corners.
Road America: Seeing a pattern here? There's just something cool about racing a car through a forest to me, I guess. I'd pick Le Mans, but I like this layout better.

For you maybe. I think the complete opposite - hence my choice of driving an FW14b around Silverstone. IMO that would really be tapping in to a bit of magic and history.
I'd even have a whinge over the radio in a Brummie accent just for effect!

No contest for me. Ferrari 312 from 1967 around the Nordschleife.
I will take the Ferrari 312 B, but same track.

Long lap and power I could control and set somewhat decent times times in.
If I tried a modern (anything from the three litre era forward) I wouldn't make it any kind of justice. And I can't see any fun in that.
