I have a large number of NASCAR diecasts which I bought whilst out in the States 10 or so years ago, they are several different scales. Where would be the best place to try and sell them as a job lot. I have a few I would like to keep but the rest have just been stored in boxes in my loft since I bought them!.............Martin

No one seems to have replied so here are my words of wisdom for what they are worth

NASCAR diecast models were popular in the UK 10 or more years ago but you don't seem to see them around any more, I suspect that with the general increase in the numbers of different types of model on the market since then other collecting themes have overtaken them. Which doesn't bode well for selling them to be honest! I would advise not trying to sell them now, everything comes back into fashion sometime. :)

Unfortunately, NASCAR and most Chinese die-cast models appear at this time to have fallen in a deep, deep pit as far as their values.

I would not recommend to anyone to buy them as an "investment" and if you really have to, only buy the ones you like... because you may sit on the ones you do not for a very, very long time.

It kind of follows the b asic "collectibles law": "anything designed to be a collectible will never be one".

And don't believe a minute that the more expensive and beautifully crafted CMC models will save the day, because they begin corroding the second they are put inside their boxes, and out of them, they are dust magnets and the dust hardens on them. Did you say "patina"?. I have seen some of the Ferrari F2 on my frinds shelves with beautiful little Chinese fingerprints on their polished metal tanks with the zillion little rivets... and this only after what, 3 years on the market?

Ouch.

Nascar diecasts suffered from everyone jumping on the bandwagon and producing way too many models for the market to absorb.
