never in a hundred years will I understand why they would schedule them against each other.

I doubt there's actually many clashing fans between Trucks and Indycar, this is the only Truck race I'm watching this year. But yeah, given it's the one race of the year you might have competition for eyeballs...

Truck race is probably going to be a lolpalooza (that will probably be deemed 'best truck race of the year' by many Autosport folk simply because it's a road course), but I thought Eldora would be one too and I was surprised, so we'll see.

I won't be able to watch the truck race since I'll be at work and I haven't decided whether I'll record or wait for a version to pop up online afterwards.

Well, whichever you watch live and then watch on delay, let's try to remember that for once it might truly being annoying to have a race spoiled and we should try to avoid doing that in the race threads.

Oh I forgot, I watched bits of Eldora and gave up. And I was a Nielsen household that week

Trucks at Mosport is the most interesting dish on the menu this weekend.

Followed by Baltimore, followed by Cup race.

I have to admit I live about an hour North of this track in Atlanta but I really have never had the desire to go see the races.

TBH, I live about an hour from Fontana and feel the same way, I used to go when CART was there, so at least I've seen a 240+ lap.

I used to hit every track for racing or arena for music.

Now I can't be bothered...

No good answer why except maybe the older I get the less patience I have for crowds.

None, because Michigan was the only race in all his wrecks that he has taken someone out, and that was because of radio issues with his spotter.

Say what you will about Montoya being fat or whatever.

But here's a guy that pulled down 3rd for the start today and is now out cold with a pile of kids on him.

I say he's got a lot to be happy with.

Agreed, Atlanta is probably the best 1.5 miler out there.  I know that's not saying a whole lot, but since you're so close it would probably be a great experience.

The qualifying times of the last three positions in today's truck race are about 13 seconds off pole.

Positions 1-10 are covered by about a second.  (pole is 81 seconds).

They don't start and park in trucks, right?

At this point drivers are going to start slowing on pit road so they can get a preferred line for restarts at tracks like this....wish they would retire the double files at least in the late laps.

theres start n parkers in trucks, but if you where going to start at the back, you might just cruise around to save tyres in qualy, you do pay for tyres, but fuel is free

Mosport is massively underrated. If you've never been there I can tell you the drop down into the hairpin is a HUGE change in elevation. Almost 90% of the lap is rollercoastering.

No doubt the track layout is world class. Unfortunate the infrastructure isn't.

Yeah I was expecting another Mid-Ohio. A lot of laps left though. Surprised how good the trucks seem to be hadling the track.

Mechanical yellow.

i think the trucks might have the most downforce and less power than the top class cars, and maybe less awful chassis

Also, it seems trucks wait till the last corner on the last lap to run into each other.

Oh f*** this. I don't like the Dillon's at all! And I'm a big fan of Elliot & Blaney, but this is cowdirt! I honestly cannot understand that this is OK driving. I know NASCAR is different, but bloody...

Yeah but the guy Papis wrecked is a guy in his first truck race so you know he was going to take advantage.

Skeen should have taken him out a few laps earlier while he could have.

Then you can just start driving with lanes around the track. And stick to it the whole race.

And then all the "I don't like to win like that". If you don't, then you don't do it.

Ye, that bitchslap! Funny how women can slap, but not men  :stoned:

There was no door to close, Elliott wasn't even there to close the door on.  Unfortunately, NASCAR driving ethics don't work for road courses, because you can always crash into the guy ahead if you want to.  Elliott revealed his true colors today.
