I am not at all sure this topic is serving any useful purpose. I'm not even sure what to tell you to get back to discussing. That Nico Hulkneberg is a better bet for McLaren than either Jenson Button or Sergio Perez? Try that, I guess.

But anyone posting Hamilton Vs Button stuff will find themselves not getting to post their thoughts and feelings here about the Singapore GP.

I find it hard to express any desire to see Button out of McLaren, because he does not deserve it on 2013 form.

Look at his performances in comparison to Perez,so far, both 2012 McLaren boys have proven their worth in teammate comparisons this year, just that because Button's car has been sub-par it has gone unnoticed more.

Whoever compared Jenson to Kimi is not talking rubbish, they are quite similar these days. I would give the Kimi of 05-07 an edge over Button, but they are quite equal on current form.  Back to his 2010-2011 best when he was a better driver than he was at Honda/BAR and even Brawn.

Hulky does deserve a promotion, but ideally I would like him to go to Lotus or take Perez's seat. The former I think has a decent chance of happening.

Best get used to it if you plan to stay around. Button is obviously not 'mediocre', he kept LH pretty honest for three years and Lewis is obviously among the fastest drivers on the grid. Hulkenberg is clearly very good, but I'm not tolly convinced he's better than Button though he might have the consistency edge on Perez.

Tkulla, there are some similarities between Raikkonen and Button, but the most striking difference is that Raikkonen isn't really that uncomfortable with unbalanced car. I have never seen Raikkonen being 16th while his team-mate wins (Canada 2012) or being at the back, when his team-mate is on podium (Korea 2010).

Except that no one would consider this year's McLaren a "balanced" car yet he is clearly quicker and more consistent than Perez. According to the "car must be perfect" myth Jenson should be struggling to beat Sergio. So given a mediocre/difficult car he's just "very quick" instead of "blisteringly quick." If the car is very good next year I expect the gap between them to widen, not close.

McLaren should consider Hülkenberg. IMO he has the biggest potential appart the obvious top3

If they replace Button (or Perez) with him , they have 2014 for him to acclimate, before 2015 with the new engine it would get serious for him

 Or the MP4-28 is not that bad. Maybe a reason neither driver has a new contract signed yet.

So Perez has become a benchmark for Button to be compared to?

My main point was that Raikkonen's lows are higher than Button's lows and he is not as sensitive to car balance. Nothing to do with Hamilton, Perez or anyone else.
