Does anyone know where the 'Rush' replicas are?

I would love to own one of the M23 ones

I wonder how accurate they are close up, I took a look on the websites of the builders but not much info there.

From what I have been told, there are more "bodies" than chassis'. The replicas are one piece bodyshells, that can be lifted off and replaced, thus saving time and costs, how many chassis' were used, and how many bodies were made, I have no idea!

I read they were based on a Reynard lotus chassis, but not yet seen any photos to confirm.

Splendid!  The Rush replicas are already the subject of nostalgia.  I am now waiting for the controversies over chassis numbers to start!!

I guess Rob Austin Racing (http://www.robaustin.com/index.php/) and WDK Motorsport (http://www.wdkmotorsports.co.uk/wdk-at-the-movies/) built the replicas.
The M23 was built up from a Vauxhall-Lotus 2-litre chassis, as were the Brabham and Hesketh, built by WDK.
Rob Austin Racing built the "Ferraris" from Formula Renault single-seaters.

OFF TOPIC: I had the misfortune to watch IRon Man 2 recently and it includes an odd scene at the Monaco Historic GP, featuring a mixed grid of real and made-up '70s F1 cars. Anyone seen this? Much of it is CGI I guess but I would think they made some replicas for this too.

I hope not, it would be better if real cars could be used for that.

According to Motor Sport 06/12 WDK Engineering and Mirage Engineering were comissioned to build cars for Rush.

Mirage did the BRM using a "space frame chassis" with a silenced Rover V8 so that they could do some wheel spinning starts. The Mirage chassis could also take replica Shadow, March

and Ligier bodywork.

Do any close ups of these cars off track, preferably with bodywork removed exist anywhere? I couldn't see any on the linked sites.

Don't think that's a replica - more likely his dad's genuine TS19.

I was told that there were 4 Vauxhall Lotuses of which 2 were destroyed (which I assumed as in the Nurburgring sequence, with one being re-used for the Cevert aftermath). I was also told that the Ferraris were 2 Mygale Novis's, obviousl;y one went also at Nurburgring.

Then he's gonna get some stick when he gets home for driving it like that!

He did!    Rob and I were going through the photographs in the paddock when his Dad appeared over my shoulder and asked to see them.  His Dad said "I thought you promised to drive it sensibly". 

And yes it is the genuine car.  And I was "lucky" enough to be the only photographer standing where I was when Rob decided to perform just for me.  Made my day!

I so so so want that car. I have the funds as well, problem is my soon to be ex wife spoiling my chance of getting at them and placing a bid in this week

Any predictions of value. A lotus reynard is under £5k and modern F1 show cars seem to be around £15k so maybe £10K ? or will the hype rocket the price

I imagine it cost £40k plus to build

In my limited experience items sold at charity events often fetch over the odds money, but that is certainly not always the case, bid what your happy to pay, you never know until you find out
