Why does the safety car stay out that long...

I know, it stays out because the backmarkers need to catch up the back of the pack again. I don't think it's fair. They already have an advantage when they are allowed to overtake the SC. Why give them full advantage and keep the SC out until they are at the back of the pack again. This is costing the viewers one or two laps of racing.

Because the fans wanted backmarkers out of the way so 2nd could get closer to Seb...

Yes, but once they are out of the way, the SC stays out until they've catched up again. I thought this rule was purely ment to get them out of the way. That's not the case now. The SC stays out for a few more laps without any reason.

Simplest way is to leave the backmarkers in line wherever they are. Getting them out of the way is ludicrous.
