Check out this huge moment between Andrew Miedecke and Glenn Seton in the Touring Car Masters Race 2 - http://www.youtube.c...h?v=g_FBHOkQ5lg

Very lucky guys - could've been a lot worse!

Eep! I wouldn't like to be in that in those cars.

Was hoping Frosty could keep pole this arvo but not to be.

Got a new lounge delivered today - just in time for a good test run tomorrow

Very windy today and the possibility of some rain later in the afternoon...

Here we go!

Surprisingly civilized start!

Red Bull look strong... Still 158 laps or so to go though!

Yep a looooong way to go yet - if the rain arrives then that could really trip people up.

Kinda a shame that they are 'only' 29 starters - I remember the days when the grid used to round the corner and up Conrod...

Just bbq'd some salmon, put the lad to sleep, beverages in the new fridge (like Brother |Fox this is very convenient) and will bunker in until the end. Bit chilly tonight, got the trackydacks going.

If you have to pit 7 times why pit early? Maybe a short fill seventh stop?

Yeah I guess so - they also said it was to help prevent the possibility of stacking 2 cars in the pits. Lowndes should be pleased about that...

Channel 7 hasn't shown the actual skippy hit - they copped a bit of criticism for showing a similar thing in all it's glory a few years ago.

And IIRC it was in about the same place too...

Can someone explain this 7 pit rule please? Haven't been following v8's too closely this year, is it to help the mercs and nissans out?

Yeah pretty much. It's to do with fuel economy....

Ostensibly yes - but they are still complaining as they will need to run more fuel in the cars due to their not being as economical on fuel as the Holdens and Fords. So they will be running heavier at the start of each fuel stint...

Thanks guys

Dumbrell's pace was pretty ominous in the first stint, long way to go though :) FVR's look quick too!

Ekstrom is so impressive!  First time in a V8 supercar, bloody fantastic.  Ekstrom was very strong in his NASCAR appearences too wasn't he?  Most impressive is that a fat heavy American muscle saloon is nothing like a DTM car, some people can just "drive"! =P

I'd happily pay but the idiots for you to buy half the season. Morons.

I like the Ingall strategy, if they must do 7 stops do three early then space out at the end.

Ekstrom, best debut by a euro I have seen when not in their own cars, i.e the Sopers and what not brought their cars over or drove one they were used. For Ekstrom to turn up and drive like this, i honestly cannot remember the last time I have seen it. Making Pilauxuxux or whatever his name is and premat look like amatures.

Premat is doing quite good today :)

I'm really disappointed with Priaulx since he left WTCC. Can't say he really impressed in DTM or in the few V8 races he did :(

ditto..... and rounding up AE86 Toyota Corollas seemingly every second corner! Ahh the good old days :(

They really should let the Dunlop cars enter this race too, pad the grid out properly.

Yep, lack of numbers is making this boring.  Oh look, a hat!  What excitement...

Also the stream I'm watching has about a 3 second lag between video and audio.  Grrr.

grid density is 55. So yeah the level 2 cars should join the race, ,and race for their own points.
There is a few people on these forums that have done it with full fields.
