hi guys,

i'm just curious about the Nascar cars and their restrictor plates. Can someone tell me how many hp are left with the restrictor plate? Would be nice, thanks in advance

Ehm why do i expect a answer like this : "yes someone can tell you..."

yeah I think so.

Are the plates still the same with FI ? they just run a throttle body instead of a carb ?

IIRC the carb plates had something like 15/16" holes, which ain't much really...

450ish HP I believe. The Trucks actually run with more horsepower at Superspeedways, they have 600 or so.

i thought they reduced the power for more safety, so waht's the point in allowing the trucks to run with 600 hp. (Not that i know the average speed of the trucks... i'm not that common with trucks (here in Europe we drive cars))

They reduce the speed to prevent cars from flying into the crowd. Trucks race in front of mostly empty seats, I guess there's not much point slowing them down?

I have a lot of guess but I don't know for sure, someone here will know so I don't want to give you the wrong answer. The trucks weigh about as much as the cars do (3400lbs or so), they just look heavier.

Safety is related to speed.  Speed is related to more than just HP.  The trucks have a tremendous amount of aerodynamic drag compared to the cars so they are still slower.

Hello from NFL land. I hope all is well with my friends here. Is Juan going out with a bang or a wimper?

BTW - the other day I heard Ray Dunlap say Piquet Jr. is going back to trucks.

Hi Watkins. Piquet to trucks huh? Probably best for all involved, tbh.

Nope you can be as negative as you like. However I won't bother trying to defend or explain nascar when you clearly started watching the race expecting to not like it. If you aren't going to watch with an open mind, I won't interpret your post with an open one.

i went into it without an opinion on it, i came out with an opinion that they may as well just run 1 lap rather than 300 and that Nascar fans on forums are quite eggy
