I am well aware of Christmas Meetings such as the 'Hogmany' (well not strictly Christmas) at Mallory Park and I rode in several myself in the 70s at Brands (we rode on a snowy track one year) .

On the Mortons archive site there are several pictures that include, Fred Neville, John Hartle and co taken in what is described as December 1960.

Can anyone shed light on these and the meeting that took place. Were there any other 'off season' meetings a the time?

I raced at the Croft meeting a few times, usually on Boxing Day and once at Carnaby, I remember the late Bob Smith passing me at Carnaby on an Albion Street Motors TZ750 and Mick Noblett was there on an ex works TR750 still in the orange stripe colour scheme.

In 87 I did the Mallory meeting on a classic outfit, a Windle BSA, great fun.

The Mallory meeting used to be held at Croft in the 70's and was called something like the Plum Pudding Handicap and I think was a Racing 50/New Era event held on Boxing Day, i'm sure they used to do something at Brands on New Years day too?

I think they only did Carnaby once in 1979 and I reckon that was on either Boxing Day or New Years eve.

I know that they ran a race at Brands on Boxing Day 1971.  Barry Sheene won the main event on the Hi-Tac Suzuki after duelling with Bob Heath on the works BSA single.
