Topic title pretty much says it all . .

If anyone has any info on the 2014 car release dates would be appreciated, also testing dates would be a bonus

Looking forward, as usual, to see what the designers have come up with

Cheers,

L

Most teams will probably unveil the cars at the first test. Or the second if they can't make the first. Maybe some will have an online launch (not like the Mercedes garage i hope) but i don't expect any fancy car presentations like we had a few years ago.

No pre-season testing at Barcelona then? When was the last time that was the case?

Not sure how you define "common knowledge" as I hadn't seen them anywhere. Good to know though. I'll probably go to Jerez on either the Tuesday or the Friday.

McLaren's launch will be digital-only. I wonder if there is something they want to keep for themselves. That's the exciting tidbit.

Nothing has been confirmed regarding any live testing coverage that I've seen (and it's more down to FOM rather than any broadcaster, as FOM if they want can say "no live broadcasts of testing are allowed").

I'm glad teams aren't throwing mega launch parties, since they don't usually have the car finished and/or don't want competitors to be able to see any innovative features so they show us something that is sort of their new car, but doesn't run and doesn't give us any info on their design direction.

That said, I can't wait to see the 2014 mock-ups and am praying they don't really have that anteater (or is it penis?) nose.

I suppose we'l know their lineup before the first race. After all, Tony can't really do all the driving by himself.

On a more serious note, I expect Koba to be confirmed by the end of next week.

To me it looks like that for us to see Lotus and Marussia 2014 cars Bernie and CVC will have pay their entry fees and maybe even motors in the case of Lotus.

Ferrari will launch its car on January 25th, 10 days from now.

Fans can choose from a selection of five different names listed on Ferrari’s official website.

The options available are F14 T, F14 Maranello, F14 Scuderia, F166 Turbo and F616.

On the off chance that that's not a stock photo, it seems to have a conventional nose.

So now the fans can choose to continue the numbering scheme from 2010 with either a T or a name added, the iconic one with displacement and number of cylinders that was last used in 1997 (though the 2006 248F1 was a variation of that as well) and a completely new one like we had four times in the last five years or so? Brilliant. Not that i really expected Ferrari to just continue a numbering scheme for once.

F14 T : meh :well:

F14 Maranello: no way

F14 Scuderia: nahh :|

F166 Turbo: follow recent tradition and sounds actually nice, but "Turbo" bit is meh. Simply "T", and add something to indicate recovery system too coz it will be more integrated one.

F616: wot? :o
