I would like to start off by nominating Jack Levy with the 'Unfordordox'.

The outfit powered (on occasions) by a 1200cc Ford Cosworth engine.

How ever many times it broke down Jack would be back at the next meeting for another dose of heartache.

I'd like to nominate "that gallant body of gentlemen" - who rode Crescents  !

The factory Norton F 750 race effort of the `70s.. 

By spending J-P quids on good ol' Brit chassis dynamics,

..while having to cope with not so good ol' Brit engine dynamics,

& doing quite well sometimes too, even when making trap speeds ~40mph down on the + 50hp up opposition..

Most noble of you Guv. But there were far more challenging engines than the Crescent used in bikes and sidecars.

Doug Young used a Panhard engine.

Lawrence Sadler used a SAAB

Hang on, a Konig finished runner-up in the `73 FIM 500 World Championship, fettled & ridden by Kim Newcombe..

Very true but the majority used in the UK were problematic, I remember a rumour that the hot tip was to Araldite the heads on.

Konigs were fine until you put water in them !
