So two "big names" Hutch & Brookes wont get to ride!!
I cant see the IOM Tourist Board taking it very well, two big crowd pullers "missing" because of a small (??) technical issue!!! With SM saying "our bikes are configured differently and would be uncompetitive"........the ACU saying "no exceptions".......is there going to be any mediation betwean SMR/ACU/IOM Tourist Board?? Plus......as Milwaukee are "factory" bikes, Yamaha themselves arnt going to be happy at missing out on possible (likely??) BIG wins at the TT!!!
Wonder if "things would be different" if it was Honda/Paggets with a "issue"??

I've been trying to get my head around this one, as have many others, it wasn't clear exactly what the problem was at first but I think it goes something like this.
In BSB all superbike teams have to run a Motec control ECU, at the TT the superbikes may run either that same control ECU or the manufacturers race kit ECU, they are the only 2 options available to them
It would seem that the other manufacturers kit ECU's are better than the Motec control ECU so at the TT they will run their kit ECU's, but the Yamaha kit ECU isn't better so instead Shaun Muir wanted to run a Magneti Marelli ECU which isn't the official Yamaha kit item, to keep his bikes on par with the others.
It seems the use of the Magneti Marelli ECU has been refused and consequently the team feels that the R1 will not be competing on a level playing field, the title sponsor has also withdrawn their support from the team for the event as they feel they are being penalised, so Shaun has pulled his team entry.
A shame for all involved and obviously the cause of much debate over the past few weeks, but unless someone climbs down on this it looks like they wont be at TT2014

It seems the two sides have now kissed and made up and the Yamahas will be at TT2014 no word yet on whether a compromise was reached or if someone simply climbed down.

(why different 'regs' fa the BIG International road races??? NW200/Ulster one set IOM TT another??)
Seems to me the Hutch/Brookes 'pull' tipped the scales??!!??
