Hullo All;

Just received the news that Eric Hurt, long time Chief Fire Marshal at Warwick Farm,Catalina and Bathurst passed away yesterday.

Also his wife Gloria who we all knew is also very seriously ill in hospital.

There are some old firies on the forum that will also remember him.

Another of the "Old Hands" now working on the Big Circuit.

VALE ERIC.

Roger.

Hullo Dan;

Sorry,can not help you with that.

I am just outside of Launceston and received the news by email.

Maybe HSRCA or Charles Jardine at FOSC could help.

Will try and find out and post it if possible.

Cheers.

Roger.

Many thanks, an end of an era. One thing that I could not work out is did Eric like Motor Racing or putting out Fires, he certinally enjoyed lighting them then showing all present his skills.

Eric and Gloria were certainly fixtures at Sydney race meetings...

Coincidentally, while talking to someone about Ray Price's passing the other day I asked about them. And Gordon Manhood. I was told Gloria had died some years ago and they weren't sure about Eric. Now we know more.

Gordon survives.

Gloria was a particularly helpful person at the AARC meeetings. She almost filled the bill as Mary's offsider there and really enjoyed herself doing so.
