Will a gearbox designed for an HB Cossie bolt right up to a DF series?

So, is the rear of the HB and say, a DFR the same bolt pattern?

Probably not. By this time in F1, there was a big push to lower the crank CL and CoG of the engine. The rear interface of the stressed engine also included the attachments at the cam covers, which were also constantly changing during this period.

Simple answer is no.  HB was different to DFs from the ground up

Yes, I know the HB is a 75 degree V and the DF series is a 90, but there are a number of late 80's F1 cars (that would have been equipped with HB's) that have  DF series bolted up, and I was wondering if they used an adapter plate or if it bolted right up. DF went to a shallow sump in '88, so I was thinking it wasn't impossible.
