I want a new team shirt for the first time in about 20 years. It's some of the most iconic livery for many a moon. They won't reply to my emails. WTF is going on?

It's not that good a livery.

I spoke to a couple of Williams team members at Albert Park about this very subject. They hoped to release the new merchandise for the start of the European season.

I probably should have asked them if they had a spare shirt lying about. I did this in 2011 with a couple of Force India mechanics (at a time when there was no Force India merchandise available at the track) and they got me a team shirt!

I will definitely be buying some of the Wiliams Martini stuff.

Buy a white t-shirt and paint some blue, red and black lines on it and you're good to go.

Williams said while ago that merchandise would be ready for the start of European part of the season. And knowing them, I would not be surprised if it turns out to be available even later.

I remember I wanted to buy one in 2012, but it took around half a season, if not more, for it to be available. I can't believe Williams are always so late with sorting it out. Other teams continue to show them how much quicker it's possible to do.

I wanted to buy a Williams t-shirt for myself this season, but that Martini livery made me lose my interest.

I like that alot, but I'd prefer to see it on a pullover.

Just an edit, if Felipe stays in F1 for as long as the Saga sponsored Rubens, that list of names is going to end up perilously close to the bottom of the shirt!

Lol!

Thanks for the replies! Seeing as Team Willy were ignoring me I thought I'd throw it out on here and it worked.......

It also lightened the place up a little...... even if it was at my expense  :smoking:

I like the livery but feel the car looks a little plain still (could be a good thing?)

Could be tactical. Maybe they're trying to build some anticipation by releasing it late...

Or they're scrapping boxes of Massa branded stuff ahead of a shock line up announcement

I didn't even realize that the original jeep manufacturer had made a comeback, let alone that it was straight into F1.  Maybe they're just playing with it.

They replied to my email about two weeks or so after I sent it.

They said this:  "Thanks for your enquiry.

The 2014 merchandise items will be ready shortly.

Please keep visiting our websites for news.

Kind regards."

Hang in there mang...

I'm hanging out TBH.....

The first good glug of red wine in a while, a historical like of Williams, an Autosport forum membership...... and a keyboard are never a good combo!

But hell - at least I've answered a nagging question!

Ha! Reminds me of 2009...no Brawn GP merchandise in Melbourne!

So a couple of locals made their own...

At least my Hamilton no.2 shirt would be bang up to date the following season

This is actually the first time in ages I'm really interested in F1 clothing, the Martini polo looks nice.

Unfortunately it's going to be like 70 euros and so I'm gonna resign myself to picking it up from eBay in 3 years time by when Williams has started running in yellow or red or pink.

Actually you have no clue what you're talking about, I work in the Design industry and we produce tons of stuff for big Fortune 500 companies, anything from print to actual shirt's / hats / golf balls / full books / print on shoes.

Williams in the grand scheme of things is a small customer of Custom Tshirts, all you need is a design  / qty / what type of material/fabric you want and thats pretty much it, looking at Williams current design it would take a Intern 30 minutes to replicate the 2014 logo/sponsors in a vector format for print on anything.

Unless Williams is one of those companies that will have 128 meetings about their future meetings then have another 300 meetings just to pick what ply of toilet paper.

We did a huge order for a top US Automaker recently and did over 100,000 pieces in under two weeks, timer started as soon as we got the approved art work.

So no its hard, its just people make it hard these days because everyone wants to feel special and have endless meetings about bullshit just so they can pretend how hard and busy they work.

I see Team Willy has a section for "Social Responsibility" on their webpage, yet they don't take their social responsibility - supplying fans with proper gear - too serious....

Its not hard, it just takes some time from saying 'we got a new sponsor and need merch' to having quality stuff ready to ship around the world. To get actual cool designs done well and to the satisfaction of a multi-national corp or two, and with the logistics etc it is not 'an intern for 30 minutes' which is EXACTLY the thinking that produces ****. It may be that Williams are happy with throw together 'whack a logo on catalogue item 3634 and call it done' stuff, and it may be that Martini are not insisting on approving samples, but I doubt it.

I say this based on experience of (not doing but sitting in an office where they are doing) the development and production of promo materials for 2 top F1 teams by the way
