The number of votes for 6s and 7s and the number of answers saying this was an ok race because their favorite driver won or made a good race show why we have this F1 now. So I guess people get what they deserve.

I believe this race goes to show that Bahrain was a desert mirage. If the Merc drivers are too far away from each other the potential for entertainment will be rather low and, even if they are, it seems LH has already caught the measure of NR, so direct battles will tend to be less and less. That is if Merc don't decide soon to put a stop to any car-on-car action.

Question why did they not tell RIC to attack ALO right away but when there were only something like 10 laps left? I know, the speed differential on the straights was large but why not give it a try? Alonso's tyres were in worse shape and pushing him may have exacerbated that problem. And also, is Ferrari the only team that has heard of an undercut?  HELLO Red Bull!

I did enjoy the graphs at the bottom of the screen showing us statistics that we don't give a **** about though. Knowing the number of Kilos of fuel they were using made the race so much more interesting.

Borefest, worst race of the season so far...I was partly sleeping for last 15 laps. Gave 3 points

Agreed .  Total borefest and dominance being toted as Hamilton brilliance.   If we we use the same criteria - Vettel must be godly .

Best Driver: Alonso (as much as it pains me to say), the biggest step up from form to a finishing position

Worst Driver: Vettel by a distance, petulant git

Best Team: Mercedes, and will be for a while i think

Best Overtake: ..... Ricciardo on Vettel, petulant git

Best Moment: RBR team radio

DRS + Tyres: non-factor (i.e. wasnt required imho) and decent bordering on poor (debris was ridiculous)

And the race in a sentence: boring in spades but it's great to see Vettel (petulant git) unravel and Horner now do his once-a-race 'plate of **** passed under his nose' face lol.

I'll be pleased to see Ricciardo and Alonso bridge the gap to the Mercs in time (and hopefully Kimi too) but Vettel (petulant git) can stew for all i care, karma's a b1tch lol. today was pretty poor and if it hadn't been for Vettel (petulant git) being a (petulant git) i'dve only rated it a 3, but he got pwned, hence i scored it a 5 :)

ps - wtf was that with the chequered flag bollox? Did they actually have to call it after 54 laps because someone put the flag out a lap early? wtf? hmmmm

Poor.

I actually switched off after Nico's DRS 'overtake' on Alonso. Without DRS we at least MIGHT have had a few laps of racing. DRS makes sure there is no chance of that.

Nico was breezing past Alonso well before they got to the DRS line, he was 1-2 seconds a lap faster at that stage, DRS made zero difference to the out come of that battle.

Without DRS, Bahrain wouldn't have been nearly as exciting, though. Would you really trade a few laps of racing between a dominant Mercedes and a Ferrari for the battles we saw in Bahrain?

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, enjoyed the strategy side up until the last 10 laps or so.  It was better than expected.

Maybe that shows how low expectations were in the first place.

Very surprised with the amount of people voting 6-7.

In no way does the race deserve anything above a 5 at best, and that's been generous. I don't care who you support

Best Driver: Fernando Alonso

Worst Driver: Rosberg

Best Team: Mercedes, utterly dominant.

Best Overtake: ? None worth mention.

Best Moment:  Vettel on the radio about Koba.

DRS + Tyres:  Only one line due to the klag,  DRS overpowering.

And the race in a sentence: Boring, horrifically boring.  Worst season ever, just hand out the hardware already and call it a day.  Hamilton won't even do a donut.

9 - Because Lewis achieved 3 in a row.

Best Driver:  3 / Fernando Alonso Lewis Hamilton Daniel Ricciardo

Worst Driver: Vettel

Best Team: Mercedes

Best Overtake: Ricciardo on Vettel

Best Moment:  Vettel's radio messages  :rotfl:

DRS + Tyres:  Still dislike them.

And the race in a sentence: Great display of dominance for Lewis over Nico and Classic Fernando.

Best Driver: Hulkenberg, career best points streak and embarrassing plenty of drivers in the standings.

Worst Driver: Massa

Best Team: Ferrari, because for once they managed to get through the weekend fairly discreetly

Best Overtake: KOB on VETTEL

Best Moment: Realising that you don't need skill to become a hairdresser, you just need customers like Lewis Hamilton

DRS + Tyres:  are two components which can be found on a Formula One car.

And the race in a sentence: RIC is on the verge of making Vettel look very bad, and it will stain his career record

I'm sorry to be a stick in the mud, but the poll is weighted and therefore worthless.

This season is one long paid mercedes demo, accompanied by more mercedes advertising on TV, every god damn commercial break.

The best thing was the expression on Helmut Marko`s face as he sat in the garage. Priceless.

Other than that: 3 out of 10.

Mercedes gives Lewis wings!

Look at him fly, I've waited for a team to give him a car like this, McLaren couldn't. The sound of this new formula and of winning is music to my ears!

Maybe if Merc wins the WDC it will make their customers forget about Michael Hastings, even though no one should ever forget.

Best Driver: Alonso

Worst Driver: Massa

Best Team: Mercedes

Best Overtake: Kimi's outside pass on ..... someone???

Best Moment: Alonso's gf, or .... when I remembered the next race will be aired at a reasonable time here in Canuckistan

DRS + Tyres: Tires should be foolproof, even for Williams' mechs.

And the race in a sentence: Aside from the interesting start and the suspenseful (for Alonso fans) finish, pretty uneventful.

Are you actually defending DRS?

F1 2014: IT'S FUEL DELTA-RIFFIC!!!!

Barely a  2.

And I support Hamilton and want him to win! But not like this.  As predicted: first 3 laps the inconsistency in qualifying sorts itself out.

Nothing happens until the tires go off at lap 7.

At that point I fast forward.  Why?  Because - ever since they invoked the stupid mandatory tire rule, *until they do their last stop what you're watching doesn't mean anything*.  It's a complete waste of time.   You're not seeing passing, you're not seeing strategy - you're seeing a mandatory stint on a tire.  They're all doing a tire test.

Then, around lap 40 the actual "race" returns with everyone on their final tire.  Except...

There was no race.  It's a long train, and AGAIN I will point out - Merc Merc, Red Bull Redbull, etc..  Because the energy restrictions *make the outcome predetermined if nobody makes a mistake*.  Was Nico going after Lewis?  No, he was watching his fuel.  A procession start to finish.

.... and the sound still sucks.  Like a Hoover.  That is, when you can hear the cars.  "You'll get used to it" - no.   The in car footage is interesting, though: you can hear the Force Indias topping out the IC engine as it goes quiet, and the electric quietly keeps going at the top of each gear coming out of the last corner.  No sound as they coast all the way into 7 (?).   Watching the tach on some cars, it's totally out of sync with what the car is doing.  The sound doesn't match anything, the tach doesn't.  All we have now is a graphic to show us the driver's fuel delta.

Ooh, look, Alonso is using a little more fuel!   And gee... everyone's "race strategy" meter is perfectly in the middle.  EXCITING!

Maybe they should give points for who finished with the most fuel?  Least amount of revs?  Or which car was the quietest?

It was more or less the cherry on the parfait of complete suck that has been this season so far.

Seeing Hamilton so happy makes me happy, though. :)

Best driver: Alonso.

Best overtake: nothing memorable really. Räikkönen pulled a nice one in turn 6but it was not worth, lots of pace advantage.

Best team: Mercedes.

Worst driver: Räikkönen and Rosberg.

DRS and tyres: DRS was OK, tyres were terrible. Lots of graining, lots of marbles.

Race in a sentence: Pretty dull. Alonso vs RB saved the day.
