Is it time pastor left the sport?

 
The haters are certainly out in full force this week; usually people and kids who couldn't move an F1 car an inch before stalling or messing up the clutch.
 
Heck, I bet most wouldn't be able to race a Twingo without ending up in a wall.
 

So, you want someone to suffer a crash severe enough that vaults them over the safety fence and into the harbor?. I see Pastor's haters club has some very "distinguished" members...

This "well you couldn't do any better" argument is annoying. You are right, i couldn't drive an F1 car for sh*t, but its not my job to. Just like its not my job to be a good footballer, or a house builder, but if you miss an open goal or build my house squint and you are paid a lot of money to do it, then i can have an opinion about how well you do it. Pastor is in the top flight of motorsport is is getting paid a lot of money to do it. If he can't do that job well without crashing or being involved in daft incidents, he's gonna be criticised.

Saying all that, it is a bit harsh wishing him to crash into the harbour or hurt himself in any way, but im pretty sure most people are just poking fun.

That's not true at all, but as PayasYouRace said his attitude and what people think about his attitude spills over onto what we think about his driving skills. Remember when Massa arrived? He crashed all the time, Sauber refused to have him coz it was too expensive. Grosjean, enormous criticism against his driving style and crashing. They accepted their errors, improved their race craft and we start to forget their previous behaviour.

I will laugh at everybody who's ridiculing Maldonado here if he scores a podium on Sunday. None of you have any form of race talent like he has, so don't judge him. 

So after Free Practice 1 has he done what it takes to be on podium ? Lets find out.

- He would need that the Mercedes don't make again a 1&2 especially Rosberg which is a Monaco specialist or beat at least Hamilton. 

2 seconds per lap difference from the Mercedes so NOPE

- He would have to beat Riccardo & Vettel on their Red Bull with an improved but not as good Lotus.

Nuff said He did not beat the RB who were at 3 and 5 (By now with just the point above and this one he has lost the podium if it was sunday)

- He would have to beat Alonso & Kimi, probably, since at this time the Ferrari and the Lotus are in the same level, but in a track where the driver have more influence like this track it all depends on whether he is better that Alonso & Kimi not just faster.

Even i thought they could beat the Ferrari's they ended up 4 & 6 with 1 second apart from Kimi.

- He would have to beat his teammate Grosjean who has been trashing him during the whole season.

Even they were pretty similar and could have beat him in FP1 he hasn't done so.

- Beat the Force India and Williams which is a highly possibility but you never know how these teams will perform here.

Out of my safest bet, on Lotus being better that FI and Williams during FP1 he could only beat 1 of the 4 cars (Massa) while being slower that .8 of the Fastest (Bottas) .6 from Perez and .4 from Hulkenberg while being just .250 from Massa.

- He would need to control his temper which in someone like Kimi is no problem but do you think Pastor can do that ?

37 Laps without doing anything crazy (Like Crashing into Perez on purpose tbt 2012) so he manage to do so.

- But most important, he would need to avoid crashing in one of the hardest tracks of the season, where a minimal mistake or distraction (I.E. watching the steering wheel like he did in China pit's) could make you hit the wall (something he has done in his 3 appearances at this track during his F1 career).

​So far no distraction or another mistake that might making him end in the ways which is a good thing considering he has done 37 laps.

 

Lets see how he copes at FP2 with this goals to see if he might get podium on sunday.

Probably he can get it, since Monaco & himself are very unpredictable, but based on what i saw on FP1 & FP2 and the requirements in mentioned above i don't see that happening at this race, maybe at next races but for this one in particular i really don't see that happening.

The accidents I referred to the drivers emerged unharmed. It was a joke.

If you have read the thread so far you see I have defended Pastors place in F1. Of the 10 posts on this thread half of the posters Pastor could stay in F1 if he cleans up his act.  Lighten up and don't tar everyone with the same brush.

EDIT: And ofcourse I don't want Pastor or anyone to end up in the harbour. But I saw this picture and thought: the only man who could do that now is...

Hahaha now i get it, sorry I'm kind of slow catching up with sarcasm, specially when its written haha Cheers !

The money will dry up soon enough and PM will be out of F1, perhap's before the seasons out.

Being quick occasionally will not be enough to get him a drive, without the huge financial backing he has enjoyed to date. He has hardly made many friends throughout the paddock, and this won't help - what team boss would want to deal with such a character?

He was unable to take the start due to what sounds like a fuel pump failure.

So looking at today and whole season, the only guy who doesn't really belong in F1 is Ericsson, yet noone seems to have a beef with him. He keeps crashing left and right in half of FPs and races and still noone cares about him and for some reason people care about Maldonado.

He hasn't hit Lewis Hamilton yet...

Thats the defining difference, Maldonado has consistently denied responsibility for anything, the guy could drive nose first into a lake and still make a excuse. The unpleasant fact is if not for a lot of money changing hands after the he maimed a steward(i believe) in monaco the lifetime ban would have stood

Sounds a lot like Maldonado complaining of williams during the Austin GP

Indeed, he does, just like Vettel has more problems than Ricciardo, Raikkonen more than Alonso. lol But we can't speak of any bias I think, however it is funny, especially in Red Bull's case. I mean it makes you wonder why on Earth Daniel's hardly breaks down, in comparison to Vettel!

It was a smart decision from Lotus to feign a fuel pump failure - this way, they saved themselves a lot of money from the inevitable Pastor crash (and probably saved a couple other teams some money, too - the would-be victims), and the end result wouldn't have been any different anyways (no points)

Poor unlucky pastor im starting to think that the bad things only happend to him.
