Here in South Oz we have the near defunct AIR which sporadically runs some drag meetings only. Hopefully more will happen in the near future. It appears Rodney Jane has some interest in getting the whole complex up and running again. The Fuel and alcohol cars raced on the 1000ft track as ANDRA has specified not enough run off for them. The same as many US tracks, the cars have exceeded the facilitys.
Pt Wakefield long closed. Victor Harbor which is primarily public roads and Woodside and Lobethal, again public roads.
A few defunct speedways, Skyline at Heathfield which is where the school oval for Heathfield High is, Hambley Bridge, Jamestown, Rowley Pk now filled in and a housing estate plus the bitumen bowl at AIR which is there still as part of the near useable [besides drags] AIR complex.
Drag Strips have been at Brooksfield [1/8] north of Adelaide and Tailem Bend east which may be part of a new complex that may be built on the old Mitsubishi testing grounds.
Rallycross at the old Tailem Bend horse racing facility, still all there I think but not used since 1980 and again at AIR but I am pretty certain all of that has been landscaped now. There was to be a new version that never got any further than surveyors pegs in about 81. It used parts of the existing rallycross track. I believe was to be all inside the bowl coming onto the main straight at the pit entrance and using the existing water splash at the back of the bowl. The splash MAY still be there, I have not been anywhere except the startline area since the early 90s.
I have competed, spectated or driven around all of these except for Pt Wakefield which I tried to find, drove past where you could see a faint outline on Google Earth but could see no evidence from the road. [It is a crop paddock]
