For the interests of the topic, no drivers who have spent more than 6 years in junior categories.
First choice for me: Anton De Pasquale.
Aussie leading the FR1.6 series with two rounds to go. He won the Australian FFord title last year.

Marvin Kirchhöfer:
German KF1 champion in 2011
In his first year of car racing he won the ADAC Formel Masters with 7 poles, 9 wins, 8 fastest laps and 16 podiums from 23 races,
Last year he became German F3 champion, he won 13 out of 26 races and missed the podium only once with a 4th place.
I tought this year he will be a title contender in GP3, but he's too hot-headed, at least he won his home race at Hockenheim.

Esteban Ocon
He benefits from the strong Prema Power team, but he is dominating F3 European series.

But who cares. Wins are wins. Hamilton destroyed all in '05 in Euro F3 with the ASM team (now ART).

Well, apart from Verstappen who I had followed in karts, I was very impressed with Esteban Ocon.
I just heard Mercedes are going to snatch him up from Lotus. Should be very good for him and I'll keep following him in the next ladder series.

What do you think about Lando Norris?
He's only 15 and his first F4 season is quite impressive, he leads the MSA Formula and he was a guest driver in a few German and Italian F4 rounds with regular podium finishes, including a victory at Spa.

With a name like LANDO NORRIS, I sure HOPE he'll become a big star... seems almost predestined! He has a cool helmet, too:
His cousin Chewbacca Van Damme isn't doing too badly, either

The amount of money (it is beyond insane) that has been spent on him he should be 1 second quicker than every driver in the world.

When I saw his motor home, Ive apologized for every ironic comment I made about Lewis Hamiltons "other kids had motorhomes" karting storys. Madness! The amount of money (it is beyond insane) that has been spent on him he should be 1 second quicker than every driver in the world.
About the thread question this site has a couple names (the order is irelevant)

Oh, but I already see the future of this thread now!
But that second Norwegian driver, meh, there must be better talents than him around!

This guy has a very good metric to measure young drivers. Its an interesting metric to wonder about.

Isnt it the same guy who calculated that Nico Rosberg is the 7th best driver in F1 history - a place ahead of Vettel and 5 (!) places ahead of his current team mate?
Regarding this one: I had the junior careers of the current drivers completely different in my mind regarding who impressed me more: Vettel was very impressive for example. Looking into the metric it is pointless: some drivers are starting their first season in a new series with top teams, some are starting their first season with low tier teams, so it makes no sense to sum that up and give bonus points if your first season was good. And some drivers are getting promote during a season to an higher class or to F1 or have not the budget to make a whole season, so they cant score points here....Furthermore I've already spotted some mistakes about the counting of the seasons However the part with the young drivers of each team regarding the excitement looks interesting

At least he is true to his model, with this rate, Rosberg won't be in front of Hamilton with that calculation anyway ^^

When announcing these 'future F1 greats', bear in mind that Luca Badoer was once upon a time considered a hot prospect thanks to some mighty seasons in karts, F3 & F3000.

His young driver model isn't much better.
Top 10 non-F1 young drivers is...
1. Frijns
2. Vandoorne
3. Yamashita (mediocre in Japanese GT and is now leading Japanese F3 after coming 2nd last year)
4. Evans
5. Hirakawa (1st Japanese F3 and Japanese Carrera Cup 2012, mediocre in Super Formula and Japanese GT since then)
6. Vanthoor (1st FIA GT 2013, 1st Blancpain Endurance series 2014)
7. Rigon (nothing really to speak of except 1st Superleague 2010)
8. Kirchhofer (1st German F3 2013, 3rd GP3 2014)
9. Calado (2nd GP3 2011, 3rd GP2 2013)
10. Wittman (2nd German F3 2010 & 2011, 1st DTM 2014)
Note the glaring omission of Ocon, Sirotkin, Matsushita (who actually beat Yamashita to two titles)...

He was impressive last year in Ginetta Juniors as well, though I have to admit I don't know how much time the relative financing of those kids gives or takes away to a lap time.

And the only time he looked like a slow and bad racer was in 2009, and seeing the time it took for Raikkonen and Massa to get to grips with it, it wasn't that strange that Badoer would struggle.

SPOILER if you want to watch the Toyota Racing Series highlights on Motors TV later, but
Lando Norris has just won the series against FI junior driver Jehan Daruvala and Pedro Piquet.
