I'd spend 2 minutes talking to my co worker about what a bastard the boss is for sitting us down for a 2 minute spot.

But this was a dreadful nauseating piece of TV   ... The whole thing seemed so rehersed and false. Why do McLaren feel the need to beat us over the head with a stick with the message:
'OUR DRIVERS ARE REALLY, REALLY GOOD PALS. REALLY!!!!'
It was this sort of crap that made them look like idiots last year - have they learned anything?!??

Things like these are actually the reason why I never liked McLaren. They were always like this - too phoney.

As usual there's a stampede to defend poor 'lil Lewis because the nasty poster has a vendetta against him. My original point was not so much a condemnation of the drivers, more a comment on the terrible PR guff we have to endure from McLaren. They tied themselves in knots last year trying to prove how pally FA & LH were and it later transpired that most of what they told us was a pack of crap. And now, instead of learning their lesson and keeping a low profile when it come to matters of intra-team relationships, they bang us over the head with this schmalzy luv-in.

Why can they not be more like Williams (for example) and just go RACING! That's something they're good at...

Why do you keep assuming that McLaren set it up? It's actually more likely that ITV asked for it from McLaren.

It might have been requested by McLaren sponsors as well, to get more TV coverage.

maclaren and practically all other teams make the show they want in front of the cameras.

it´s a fake. with small actors and snoring racing drivers.

In what way hasn't Hamilton been a success. Did you classify Kimi as a loser when he was at McLaren and didn't win a WDC for so many years? Hamilton surpassed everyone's expectations of him set before the 2007 season. If coming 2nd in the drivers championship and beating a 2xWDC in his first season is not success then I don't know what is.

What you think the teams dictate to ITV that they want to do a interview?

eh, ITV thinking about viewers, viewing figures, sponsorship and making a show of it.
They've paid a lot of money to get the contract and they're going to get as much out of it as they can

ITV is a british channel, they have a wunderkid British star ofcourse they're going to milk it, there viewing and advertising marker is british

hamilton was supported by mercedes mclaren last year and they lost big trowing away everything and end with nothing.

this year they are winning. good for them. but this scenery of good pals we are is only be showing till hamilton gets more of the same.

remember the australian gp podium: hamilton was quite rude when trowing away heidfeld and rosberg from the top position to grab his bottle of champagne.

it´s the guys self class. he feels now defeated by 2007. he wants to prove something. they act like losers on the way to get big trophies. just look the face of ron dennies when kovailanen took alonso. they smell rat.

and they stage this sofa conversations.

lol wat, did you even watch the same podium celebration as i did? rosberg and hamilton are very good friends. that was just a little of playful fun. are you saying you've never messed around with your close friends? I have and we then we all have a good laugh afterwards. You can clearly see in nicks and nico's body language and faces that they were not offended and clearly thought it was bit of fun. it's funny how the only one's complaining is you and not the drivers themselves.

You are free to your opinion but what the rest of the world saw was good old playful fun between good old friends. Sure if someone else was in the podium Hamilton wouldn't have done that, but that's the same as me not pushing and shoving people I barely know.

Just for example how other's viewed the podium celebrations

Winning is.

Evidently there are varying degrees of success. In fact, I'm sure Hamilton himself would gauge his '07 campaign a qualified success, though he was not *successful* in winning the championship. I also suspect he would have based this success on "coming second" and would not have voiced that "beating a 2XWDC" would be his measure of success.
Dunno, I'm just saying that Hammy can reflect on '07 and look at it as being a successful rookie campaign, but that his *real* measure of success can only be securing the WDC for himself (not the team :D )

This thread has done it. I don't see this place as an F1 forum anymore. Aren't there enough soap operas for you to move your attention and bitching to?

And how the heck do you guys think you would come off if you were told to have a casual conversation with a work mate with millions watching on live TV? They actually handled it quite well! If you thought it was so terribly fake that's probably because you think MTV soap operas are reality...

while fairly artificial and pointless, i don't find it to be offensive in any way. i think the setting more than anything makes it seem ill thought out.

if they really have a PR department they should have gotten the drivers to spend some proper time hanging out, competing on jet skis or something of that sort.

this does not bring anything to the table.
