His team mate is doing well. In fact if you read any of the threads before the season started about Bourdais being paired off with Vettel, everyone was saying Vettel would absolutely destroy him. I believe Vettel is just another creation of the media hype.

This is correct. Speed was actually a better racer than Liuzzi although slighlty behind in speed. He put up some great performances last year, I recall Spain and in Monaco he was glued to kimi's bumper for the entire first stint. Vettel is very good, but to me there was no indication whatsoever that he would beat Bourdais or that he was better than Speed or Liuzzi.

It seems the only reason people are defending him is that they hyped him up and now they can't admit they ae wrong.
Vettel has plenty of speed and is very young. His does not seem to make many mistakes when he is alone on the track and race craft is something you can develop. He quick, he is smart. He will improve. But so far he has still been a disappointment.
