Excuse my ignorance for not knowing, but car racing is new to me and having only watched one BTCC race, I realise for race two the cars line up in their finishing order, what happens to cars that have a DNF in race one please? Do they still get into race two?
Thanks if someone can reply!
Touring Cars grid question please!

I don't follow BTCC, but I think that those who don't finish race one will start race two in the reverse of the order in which they retired (i.e. the person who retired first is last, the person who retired second is second last etc.).

Correct, they start, in order of who got the furthest, behind the finishers.

Hi Sophie and welcome!
One of the problems with BTCC is the small timeframe between races on raceday, so....depending on the reason for the DNF you often find many cars don't make it into the next race due to their problem. Being touring cars that's usually large amounts of damage due to ridiculous 'panel rubbing' over the first few laps.
It's quite frequent for a driver to be punted out heavily in the first race and not be seen again that day as there's not enough time to fix the car.
