Fresh off of a podium finish at the last ChampCar World Series race held on the streets of Long Beach April 20th, 2008, Mario Dominguez and Pacific Coast Motorsports appear to be on the verge of pushing the chips to the middle of the table for a run at the IndyCar Racing League Championship season for 2008.

It has been communicated that the management of PCM, Mario Dominguez, and representatives of Mexico City will be holding a press conference in Mexico City (April 23, 2008) to announce their official 2008 IndyCar Program!

With three race weekend races in the can, Mario and PCM will be starting out not as far behind as one might think.

Now, if only they can get credit for the points earned by the third place showing at the Long Beach Grand Prix!

There was a previous press release that stated the race in Long Beach would be the last race for Alex and PCM together. The announcement was friendly ... but final.

I had seen in a response at a different location that since their hat was not officially in the ring (as it were) that there might be a dispute or a question about this issue on the points.

If someone were to ask me ... it is a transition year, it is initially hard to get sponsors (just look at Graham Rahal), and a deal so soon after a podium finish should count for something.

Buuuuut, nobody's askin'!

Interesting that Figge gets dropped- his dad owns the team.

I understand the team has been sold to team manager Tyler Tadevic.

I wonder if that means that the Figges will end up starting a new team in either one of the sports car series or in the Atlantics?
