I haven't been on here in ages. I didn't realize how many great circuits are not being used for professional open wheeled racing in the USA. How is it that Champ car and Indy car can reunite and leave out Laguna Seca and Road America? I suppose Indy Car would rather have another oval race in Kansas than a roadcourse race at a great venue like Laguna or Road America. This is not an oval vs road post...but rather to point out that the new merged series has really overlooked some great tracks. Actually, I am making an assumption here. Does anyone know why the new series chose skip these great venues?
Perhaps it was due to legal reasons, or maybe the afformentioned circuits don't want the new series?

Laguna usually provides pretty poor races though, as much as I love the place.

A lot of tracks were skipped simply because there was no room in the Indycar Series 08 schedule for them. You'll see a more balance line up next year.

given the calendar was sorted out months ago there was no way for them to suddenly find new dates,or swap races that have a contract for this season with tracks that don't have a contract for this season

I just want Mexico back (not with Dominguez though, he can stay out).
