'How important and competive is this series?', I already wanted to ask someone? I mean, my countryman Guido van der Garde won the first two races of the weekend, and I'd have to say in my mind he's far from being the next great hope from Holland... Further, on Dutch websites ofcourse this feat was mentioned. But I can't even find the basic coverage on Autosport.com (perhaps I am not looking right).
Hope you don't mind the intrusion, Clatter.

I think that German and British F3 are pretty constant in calibre... or am I wrong? (GP2 has not had the real chance to prove itself, because of the relative newness and all...

I will look up the results for the past couple of years. If you see the same team winning all the time, and the differences between cars is big, the careerresults of the drivers is meagre... I'll come back to y'all...

The World Series certainly is no match for GP2 in terms of talent on the grid, and I would even rate it below the European F3 series (although the cars are faster).
The fact that last year's champion and vice champion are now racing in GP2 and not testing or racing in F1. But still it's a fantastic formula and it has produced some great drivers in the past (and lets' not forget that Kubica and Vettel were also racing there before he went to F1). Parente does belong in F1 if you ask me.
This year's field doesn't seem to be as competitive as in the past though.

when you have at one point 4 drivers challenging for a championship in a season that had more boring races than exciting ones, you know there's something wrong here.
Otherwise, the coverage of the series wouldn't be as small as it is right now. Only Spanish and a couple of European TV stations cover it. No MotorsTV, no Eurosport, nothing.
Either way, I'm rooting for Salvador Duran, and that new Mexican guy Pablo Sanchez, never heard of him, and I wonder how good he actually is....oh, and Robert Wickens and Mikhail Aleshin as well.

Well, my apologies, autosport! I really could not find it!
EDIT: aah, under WSR! Got it!
