Toro Rosso's new STR3 is set to make its debut at the monaco GP. The STR drivers are both excited about the new car. So will it be a winner or a spinner?

Well at least they are not saying it's a dog. That's usually a good sign.

I do not expect a win, but I do think that it will be a very credible mid field car, I will not be surprised if one of them makes it to Q3.

Well if it's basically the RBR4 with a Ferrari lump in the back, I'd expect to see some pretty good performances from the Sebs ...

Vettel docks five places in Monaco. This because the different assembly of the new gear box.

Edit: AFCA already mentioned in the other thread.

The car is not the greatest factor at Monaco - anyone can design heavy downforce, engines don't need to be fast, just reliable. It's the drivers that do 90% of the job. Obviously that 10% car performance still makes a difference, but we can't possibly tell how good the Rossos' new car is or isn't by it's Monte Carlo results. Still, the flipside is that it will be the best chance for the best results (as it will be for Force India and would have been for :( Super Aguri

The recent tests at Paul Ricard indicated that there was only a difference of about one tenth of a second with the RB4's lap times on the two days they were running with high downforce setups. I believe the STR3 will make a leap above Force India for Monaco and probably push Honda and perhaps Williams more than they're expecting.

For the remainder of the season? Tough to estimate, the STR3 should be a formidable package and easily finish above Force India I would imagine.

I do expect TR to finish above F India, whilst they still get RB support they hopefully will finish higher. Personally I want to see RBs and TRs taking up the points at Monaco. Mark Webber for a podium? That's a new thread really isn't it? ;)

Bourdais retired in the last race (suspension failure) so is allowed to change his without penalty.

LOL, Vettel can't buy a break. The guy finishes the races first time in a long while, and it turns out to be worse than pointless for him, it costs him 5 grid positions at the worst possible track.

That was my thought too. The guy picks it up all at once. Well, better now than later in his career with a winning package, i guess.

Well the STR has a better engine that the Redbull. Wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility it outperforms the big sister team.

Maybe possible, but what will be your excuse if STR doesn't "outperform" RBR? I bet you'll still stick to your Ferrari-power fairy tale. :p
