I posted recently on the sister forum about drivers that you have met, saying that i spoke to Andy Green last year at the Goodwood festival of Speed. I was discussing with him Steve Fossetts endevour to try to break the land speed record with Craig Breedloves vehicle which failed in its attempt in 1997 when Thrust SSC succeeded. Mr Green was saying that Mr Fossetts attempt was indeed a serious project and that first testing was to proceed in September of that year. As you probably know Steve Fossett tragically disapeared in his light aircraft somewhere in the nevada desert on 3rd September last year. I was wondering if anybody knows whether the project is likely to continue in any shape or form or if it has come to grinding halt in light of the aforementioned tragic event.

The team is currently going through a driver selection process, and are quite keen on the idea of a female driver, apparently the new cockpit is quite small............

Andy and I where speakers at Brooklands recently, he auctioned off a signed shirt in aid of GOSH, and didn't do a bad job of it. Certainly got the price up!

Australian Rosco McGlashan is planning an attempt on the land speed record. Article in the paper today on the design of 'The Bullet' car. Website here

Article in the paper, which I couldn't find a link to, says there are 4 teams currently planning assaults on the record. Noble's is of course one of the others, what are the other two? Is Fossett's program continuing or is it no more.

Didn't he have a project in the 80s or early 90s? I'm sure I remember his name in connection with a car in the style of the Green Monster and Thrust 2.
