Mariano Werner wins for Toyota Team Argentina at Rosario

Toyota Team Argentina driver Mariano Werner won the Super TC 2000 race at Rosario ahead of Nestor Girolami's Peugeot 408 and Toyota team-mate Matías Rossi and storms into the lead of the championship.
Werner took a comforable win in the rain after starting second on the grid, after just losing out to Renault Lo Jack Team driver Mariano Altuna in the Super 8 qualifying race in the morning, with the Renaults struggling in the wet conditions after a strategic error with tyre selection.

The race was interrupted briefly by the safety car on lap 32 to facilitate the recover of Daniel Belli's stricken Lanus Motorsport Chevrolet Cruze.

Werner's winning margin was a dominant 8.4 seconds over Peugeot Cobra Team's Nestor Girolami, with reigning champion Matías Rossi close behind, just two-tenths of a second behind Girolami's 408 at the line.

Jorge Trebbiani scored a strong result for the PGS16 Ford team with fifth, with Emanuele Spataro the top classified Renault Lo Jack Team driver in sixth place, followed by the two Chevrolet Cruzes of Agustín Canapino and Christian Ledesma.

With his second consecutive win in only the third round of the Championship, Werner now assumes the points lead from an absent Carlos 'Cacá' Bueno with 62 over Girolami on 56, with Rossi in third just five points further behind.
01 Mariano Werner 43 Laps

Hermanos,

Any news about F3 Sudam?
I've being reading wild rumors about it.

I know this is offtopic, but I've just wanted to answer my own question: F3 Sudam (at least for 2012) is dead.
The old promoter dropped the series and the Argentine teams decide to leave the project behind.

The new Brazilian promoter decided that the costs to arrange a South American series were unjustifiable and has decided to nationalize it, creating the F3 Brasil.
Races could start on the second semester if Petrobras still interested in sponsoring the championship.

An ungrateful end to F3 Sudam and a harsh (re)born to F3 Brasil with rumored 11 cars spread on two classes and both running with an outdated chassis.

426 Front Wheel Drive Touring Car & Rear Wheel Drive GT Gearbox
A transverse six speed sequential racing gearbox, primarily designed for use in FWD Touring Car and Rally Car applications, utilising higher torque engines. It is the spec. gearbox for the Argentinean STC2000 series.
The unit is a re-package of the successful ‘416’ FWD Touring Car gearbox, which has been utilised in the ETCC and WTCC. The new design gives a lower center of gravity, and the encapsulating cluster casting makes it easier to remove the cluster for ratio changes. Customers using the 426 have secured class wins in races such as the Nürburgring 24 Hours. A recent variant has been made available for RWD GT2 & GT4 applications.

Pro Racing back with Franco Vivian at Oberá
The Pro Racing team will return for the next round of the Super TC 2000 Championship at Oberá after a two race absence, with 23-year-old Franco Vivian joining the team in their Fiat Linea.

The team ran the works Fiat programme in TC 2000 last year, but had dropped to just one car at the start of the season after Fiat left the Championship, fielding two-time champion José María López in the Fiat Linea, now equipped with a Radicial V8 engine with the new changes in regulations for this season as the TC 2000 became the Super TC 2000.

After a tough start, López left Pro Racing to join the rival independent PSG16 Team, formerly the factory Ford team in the Championship, from the fourth round at San Juan. López took pole position in his first race with PSG16, and also took pole position again last time out at General Roca and went on to take the race win.

Pro Racing will return at the next round at Oberá with 2010 Formula Renault 2.0 Argentina runner-up Franco Vivian, who is looking forward to racing in the Championship again.

"It's a great joy to debut in Super TC2000," said Vivian. "Since I started in karting, my goal was the TC2000 and now Super TC2000. In 2009 and 2010 I raced in the (Buenos Aires) ran the 200km as the guest of Jose Luis Di Palma and I really enjoyed it.

Does it have to be relevant anywhere else? Racing is racing and I think the OP does a great job in keeping us informed about other series.

Don't you think its essentially someone doing PR for the series?
Yes I know he's keeping everyone informed and its great to find out whats going on in the wider world of motorsport but some of the posts are a bit silly - Touring car record top speed set at oval outside of racing conditions, Tom Cruise, pictures of Barrichello crying, event flyers, quoting crowd figures etc.....

Yes, and bad PR.

Considering the topic has been running for about five years and the OP is not spamming the board it would be churlish to close it down.
There are 'silly' posts everywhere and, providing they align with the board rules, there is no reason to remove them.
