F1Fanatic.co.uk hasn't added one of these threads this year, has he? I wanted to add one for the French GP because I was surprised by some of the negative reactions to it.
For me, it was a very good race, with cars racing entertainingly nose to tail, on different lines, through spectacular chicanes, and I thought that the level of difficulty of passing was just what's needed - there was often the opportunity to pass, through a series of corners, with the driver in front working visibly to prevent the overtaking, sometimes as entertainingly as when the pass was successful.

Alright, the race for the victory wasn't thrilling but there was a lot going on elsewhere. So, how did you feel it went? Controversy about penalties aside, perhaps.

8/10. Pretty good considering France is considering one of the more boring races on the calendar.

Hmm. 10 to me is something that happens no more than few times per season - if we´re lucky (applies to any series, any era). 9...not quite! I gave it 8. One of the better races despite of average track.

Better then the average high speed aero track. Unlikely that Silverstone will be as good but you never know.

Apart from me being very happy with the outcome I think that was a decent F1 race

Good one reviving this. I forgot about these threads.

Voted 1 of course. I fail to see how anyone who actually enjoys racing could give it any higher score.

Just a boring boring race and represented all that can be wrong in F1:

Wins from attrition.
Dodgy penalties.
Almost zero overtaking.
Big distances between cars.

Crap.

You haven't really been looking.

When was the last time we had 13 cars finishing in the lead lap?

The only other thing I'll say on this matter is that I'm pretty sad this race is being scored so highly.

If today's piss-poor and tedious GP represents the quality of F1 that people consider good these days then I'm lost for any more words...

I can't comment on this any further.

I voted a 1.

I woke up at 7:30 to see some of the race preview - and fell back to sleep half hour into the race.

I hit rewind and replayed it - and was at least happy I got some shut eye.

Yawn

Seriously - what happened that was exciting?

Only issue that I had was too much focus on Hamster; race was going on, and I need to see Macburger most of the time with this guy? I didn't time it, but it felt like that.

When nearing the end of the broadcast, I was surprised to have the person next to me comment on what a dull race it had been. I'd been thinking, 'Not that bad', considering I hadn't expected much better than a veritable parade, yet there were some interesting moments spread out among the top ten (Trulli holding off a Mclaren and a BMW for third, Piquet finishing ahead of Alonso).

A six.

These ratings are mostly meaningless given that there's clearly a high correlation between favorite team/drive outcome and perceived entertainment value (including for me). Non-biased fans are the significant minority.

Honestly I thought it was just ok. I dont know where all the 8's are coming from. It was nowhere near as good as 1999 and 2000 thats for sure.

It was medicorish at best. A little bit more of rain would certainly do it good. 4/5

I voted 2. It just confirmed to me that most current tracks combined with the regs lead to a dull race - unless it rains.

I gave it a six, but that rather low score is because with current regs we can never get higher than 8. Judging by french standards, it was a 8!

Gave it a 7. It was not a parade, sure the f's where dominant and there was little excitement for p1 and p2, but from 3rd till 8th there was a lot going on, decent racing & fights, different strategies and some nice moves.

I really can't understand those that give it < 5 other than being disappointed in the results of their favorite driver.

A 7 it was an OK race, too bad Hamilton messed-up he could have made it more interesting.
The sheer dominance of Ferrari is scary, let's hope Kimi and Massa will keep the fight for WDC interesting.

The race was very dull, except for Truli/Kavalainen and some further duels in the mid field. But watching driving in Magny Cours without traction control is very exciting.

I marked it relative to other races this season, not relative to the 'Good old days' (in which case none of the last 3 years races would rate higher than zero) Given the race-stifling rules and clinical circuits, Magny Cours wasn't that bad IMO.

Totally boring 1 star. Race ruined by penalties to the only opposition to a Ferrari 1-2.

Not much special really happened besides penalty to ham and problem for Kimi.

Though don’t the votes correlate to

1-2 = Bitter McLaren fans?

9-10 = Joyous Ferrari fans?

I'm a non biased fan.:)

Love Ferrari, both drivers but still a rubbish race. Awful.

At the time of writing eleven people have voted this race as 10/10. That's one of the craziest things I've ever seen.

I give ze race a seeeven. Actually kept me awake, so that is something. The midfield was quite interesting, it wasn't clear who would finish where till near the end. The sprinkle at the end also raised the excitement.
