I'm surprised you don't believe this story since it has as much merit as Lewis buying a personalised plate!

Im starting to think this is all BS.

I've seen this a few times in a few different places and the thing that confused me the most was the misspelling of Matt Jaskol.

So I did some searching on Brook Johnston, who doesn't seem to exist outside of these sorts of posts.

Likewise there is no BMW Sauber Red Bull Racing. There certainly isn't a race at Monaco, and from other posts I've seen on other forums there are no races in any of the 'events' they claim are going on.

The format seems to be the same though. A new poster issuing 'press releases' about a team and drivers that don't exist in events that aren't being hosted.

I wonder if it's a (somewhat ill-advised) attempt to show his "skills" as a motor-sport journalist, writing up a purposefully fantasy event, in order to try and get work as a hack within the Haymarket group?

Im wondering if it's a scam of some sort since I've seen it on other motorsport forums.

If so, he has no chance. Haymarket already have Peter Windsor.

Viral marketing or some sort of art project, perhaps. Or even fanfic.

Most likely. I had my own F1 racing league when I was 12 and liked to write scenarios of the fantasy events. There was no Internet at the time though.

What about this Brook Johnston in karting: http://sponsorhouse....hnst/About.aspx ?

Maybe he's the poster above and he's just dreaming of his future career...

Sounds like a karting event, but it is really hard to make out.

I did this for another forum: My sad attempt at reporting a fake race.

Long parts in quotes.

Champ Car 2008

Matt Jaksol does not run with Red Bull sponsorship anymore. Hasn't since 2004.
