Just saw this on the F1 homepage and can honestly say they are the coolest looking racing cars I have ever seen and they are back at Hockenheim 08 as an F1 support race!

Its a shame it wont involve current F1 drivers but should be great and hopefully it gets broadcast somewhere.

Makes porsche supercup look like BTCC if you ask me :)

Good stuff, I saw these race as support series when I was a little kid and have seen them lately making it into the historic racing scene.

But only 10 cars at the Hock, that will certainly not be more than a little parade :|

Would you really expect any other drivers than current F1 BMW drivers to be allowed to touch that car? ;)

I just don't get it Im afraid. Whats the point of doing all these classic "oh the old days were amazing" sort of races? Don't get me wrong I love the M1 but this just seems to be an odd mix of a classic race series with drivers that should have given up a couple of years ago.

If it was fully modernised with say, the cars being the new M3, and current F1 drivers racing them it would be great, but no- (as far as I'm aware), we get the usual ex-F1 drivers that have done this kind of thing so often before and some will be prepared more than others, so to be honest I couldn't care less who won.

I'd love to see a couple of F1 support races with some current F1 drivers doing it, in modern saloon race cars. That would be awsome.
