Hello. I'm new to this forum.
In the early '70s I worked at Gus Kuhn Motors and regularly went to race meetings with the team. I remember Dave as being a really great person, down to earth with a wicked sense of humour. As I recall he acquired the nickname "Dave the plague" and I first saw him in action winning the Lord of Lydden title on his bright yellow Dunstall Norton Commando prior to his association with Gus Kuhn Motors I think he won that title 3 times. I was part of his paddock crew when he collected the Mellano trophy for his victory in the Hutchinson 100 at "Hands Bratch" (racing in the reverse direction). Dave's father, whose name escapes me, and his wife Sue were regularly at race meetings. Really nice people as well.
It was a very sad day when he was killed at Oulton Park but unfortunately, by then, we had lost contact
